SUB-POINT 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God".. and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

To begin with brothers and sisters, there are a plethora, of prophetic, profound and permanent facts that permeates through over 1600 years of the development of the scriptures. Although the topic of scripture is not merely antiquarian they are super important pertinent and significant to everyday life for the believer. The scripture might be antiquarian and ancient but they are as real today as the day they were written. The New Hampshire doctrine of 1833 of the Baptist articles of faith that we believe in, declares this. We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired , and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction;that it has God for its author, salvation for its end,and truth without any mixture of error for its matter; that it reveals the principles by which God will judge us; and therefore is and shall remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian Union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried.

Again our theme scripture is in 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God".. and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Let’s start off with God. And for the record anytime we start off with God we are on the right track.

That Means that God Elohim inspired the stories of creation and put them in the hearts of in -trusted men.And Over time centuries and centuries later Elohim the Supreme God, the Strong One maintained the integrity of the biblical accounts by word of mouth.

By word of mouth the Elders kept in tact the details that Elohim imprinted in their minds and their hearts. I believe it because Elohim Himself used His mouth and said let there be, and it was.

All God Yahweh Elohim Jehovah Adonai had to do was speak and it was. Elohim created the universe in seven days. The Word Elohim is plural denoting the Trinity God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Ghost
Day One In Genesis God created the heaven and the earth. Elohim did it
Day one In Genesis Elohim said Let there be light and came day and night and Elohim's creation is still functioning perfectly.
Day two In Genesis Elohim separates the sky from the water. That means that the water that's on planet earth never fly's off the planet and go into outer space.
Day three In Genesis Elohim separates the land from the water, Then God creates plant life and vegetation
Day four In Genesis Elohim creates the sun, moon and stars.
Day five In Genesis Elohim create the fish in the seas and the birds in the air
Day six In Genesis Elohim creates the land animals and God says let us make made in our own image. And here is where the trinity is introduced. The Father Son and Holy Ghost. Elohim. Because the word Elohim represents the Godhead plural. And Christ is the Federal Head of the Church.
Day seven In Genesis Elohim rests and declares Creation excellent.
The bible was written at different times in history and under various circumstances. The following book of the bible that made the canonization of scripture are very important. This is the Canon of the bible.
The Torah are traditionally the first five Hebrew books of scripture. Moses wrote them. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
The writing were passed down through oral traditions and renditions. and eventually were put in written form.
Each book of the bible from Joshua Judges Ruth Samuel Chronicles Kings Ezra and Nehemiah which are Post Exilic.
Then there is Esther denoting the Persian period and is also Post Exilic.
Then the book of Job probably written during the Patriarchal times, times such as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So it’s not Post Exilic. For the record during My studies at the seminary I learned that the book of Job was the first book of the bible ever written , Author unknown.
The Psalms are hymnals for Israel.
The book of Proverbs is a collection of wisdom that was gathered over a longg gg period of time. Solomon, Hezekiah, Agur and King Lemuel are writers.
Ecclesiastes written by King Solomon and describes Solomon as the Black Preacher as scriptures suggest.
Songs and Solomon also written by Solomon describing marital love in typical oriental fashion.
And let me say this before researching this information for distribution to God’s people I just learned this information in the seminary to make an A . But God has got a way that will make you go back and search and research scripture to bless His People.
And Preachers I’ve learned that this isn’t about me It’s all about God.
The book of Amos was the earliest of the writing prophets.
Then the books of Isaiah, Micah, and Hosea 750-636 BC. Also included in the 8th century prophets would be Jonah, Joel and Obadiah
The book of Jeremiah representing the Southern Kingdom was written 626-586 BC Jeremiah also wrote the book of Lamentations. and spoke of Israel’s 70 years of captivity.
Then the book of Ezekiel was positioned to represent the Babylonian captivity during the years of 593-586 BC .
Then Daniel who prophesied in Babylonia and they respected Daniel and his Apocalyptic sayings during 606-536 BC.
Nahum written during 612 and predicted the fall of the Assyrian capital of Nineveh. Nineveh was some kind of town.
Then Habakkuk in 603 BC foretold the punishment of Israel by the Babylonians
and By the way God allowed these heathen nations to whip up on Israel because Israel was always being a disobedient nation towards God. Then God would turn right back around and whip up on them for whipping up on Israel.
Then Zephaniah was written 625 BC to blast Judah for idolatry.
Then Zechariah written 520 BC to encourage the reestablished the Jewish community to rebuild the temple and walk in the ways of Yahweh.
Then there was Malachi written in 450 BC the last of the prophets , and Malachi predicts a new day for God’s people.
And so all OT scriptures were written by the 5th century BC. 5 centuries or 500 years might seem like a long time but it took a long time to get where we are today.
Scriptures were stored in Israel’s sanctuary. And Ezra the Scribe started an organized system to store scripture. And each Prophet preacher priest and Pastor held the other person’s writings in high regard.
In other words you never hear one preacher hating on Moses or another one hating on Daniel. Each Preacher or Minister held the other in high regard because they knew what I know we are all in this together.
So much so until And they often times referenced and quoted scripture from each other because it’s all God’s word. Listen All scripture is divinely inspired by God and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction etc…
But the 64 million dollar question is, were there other books of the OT that perhaps didn’t make the cut. The answer is yes. For instance: the book of Yashar or the book of the wars of Yahweh. Tobit, Judith, 2 Esdras, 5 additions to the book of Esther, the wisdom of Solomon, Ecclesiasticus, the wisdom of Jesus of Sirach, the prayer of Azariah, the song of three young men, Susanna, Bel and the dragon, the Prayer of Manasseh, 1 Maccabees , 2 Maccabees, the letter of Jeremiah. These books are called the Apocrypha. the Apocrypha are a collection of Jewish book that are not found in the bible they didn’t made the cut And so we can conclude that a selection had to be made.
but how does the canon of the Bible come into existence.
1. Which books were going to make it in the Canonization of the scripture?
2. How is this going to be determined ?
3. What precedent established the divine authority to include a book or not?
Research suggest that the answer to these three question is that
1. The books that were chosen possessed special authority.
2. The books had the stamp of divine authority on them. God approves the books or not.
3. Some of the Words of God spoken to Israel were accepted and added to the sacred collection of ancient texts as soon as Moses spoke the word!!! When Moses spoke the ten commandments nobody debated or argued or suggested that they be examined. And the knuckleheads that said Moses you’re not the only one that God talks too… The ground opened up and swallowed Korah and his gang up. Then the ground closed back up again. That said then and it says it now You can’t mess with God’s preacher. If that word is coming from God you better leave it right alone.
Gamelial said in the NT wait fellows wait let’s leave these Jesus Christ preachers alone because we see that they have been with the Lord and we might find ourselves fighting against God Himself!!! And nobody in their right mind want to be found fighting against God, just because you don’t like the preacher that God send to tell you the truth.
And so how did we get the present day canonization of Scripture The word of God to Israel continued to be the voice of Almighty God and Melita in 170 AD who was the Bishop of Sardis had a collection of the OT scriptures. Then we’ve got the 1&2 Maccabees then 1&2 Baruch. Then there is Ecclesiasticus and .......... In Rome in 90 AD there was the council of rabbis. This council held vigorous debates over the canonicity of certain books. The debated over the books of Jonah and extensively over the book of Ezekiel. The also debated over the book of Proverbs, where is says do not answer a fool according to his folly. Then there was suspicion over the book of Ester because it did not mention the name of God.
Then weary pessimism created in Ecclesiastes and song of Solomon was too explicit about sexual love No matter how much debate and discussion there was never a question to remove any of those book from the canon of scripture. And and there was also no question to add books that had been rejected years ago.
Those rejected books are called the apocrypha. The Apocrypha gives us literature and text during the intertestamental period and believe it or not a lot of Christians used these books for inspiration and for ways to live. The top theologians of that day and time didn’t accept the apocrypha as sacred text but emphasized that the books of the apocrypha although not a part of the canonization of scripture were useful to read.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Ti 3:16–17.
To begin with scripture is Language, and language is a way of thinking. Language is not merely a set of words that form into sentences, into paragraphs into pages into chapters and finally into books.
Language is the speaking face of the heart, and so God used language too speak to our hearts. That’s why 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
God spoke the language of the bible in Hebrew Aramaic and Greek so that His word would continue to carry the divine message. One writer had me to know that God’s word are earthly words not heavenly words, because God doesn’t need his word in heaven He is His word. And so God uses His word to reach us here on planet earth. God uses languages to make his saving purposes known to mankind. Or how else would we know what God commands compels composes inspires instructs illuminates illustrates directs demonstrates leads guides nurture reiterate compel compose Millions People still speak Hebrew Aramaic and Greek

The following topics were given to me by the inspiration of God for the people of God. The purpose of the law and an exhortation to obey it

1. Love God First

Deuteronomy 6:1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it: 2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. 3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey. 4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

2. Love and Take care of God’s Pastor Preacher Prophet Poiman

1 Kings 17:8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, 9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

3. What exactly is supposed to Happen to God’s Church

Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

4. Never Judge A Book By It’s Cover.

Luke 18:9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

5. Deception and Greed Lust and Lies by Cheeky Members

Acts 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

6. Hypocrisy is a dangerous sin.

Hypocrisy is deliberate deception, trying to make people think we are more spiritual than we really are.

Luke 6:39-49

39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? 40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master. 41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye. 43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. 46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? 47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. 49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
7. Love Your Neighbor as Yourself.
Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

8. The consequences of not having benevolent compassion on our neighbor I Samuel 25:36  When Abigail went back to Nabal, he was in the house, eating like a king. He was very drunk and in a good mood. So she told him nothing until the next morning. 37 In the morning when he was not drunk, his wife told him everything. His heart stopped, and he became like stone. 38 About ten days later the LORD struck Nabal and he died.

9. I’m Talking to people that’s got good sense

1 Corinthians.10:15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say. Church behavior, Church etiquette, and church socialization,
