INIQUITY @ WORK IN MINISTRY
2 Thessalonians 2:5–9 TPT
5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I went over all these things? 6 Now you are aware of the ruling power so that he may be fully revealed when his time comes. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already active, but the one who prevails will do so until he is separated from out of the midst. 8 Then the “outlaw” will be openly revealed, and the Lord will overthrow him by the breath of his mouth and bring him to an end by the dazzling manifestation of his presence. 9 The presence of the “outlaw” is apparent by the activity of Satan, who uses all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs, spurious wonders,
2 Thessalonians 2:10–11 NLT
10 He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. 11 So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies.
What Is Iniquity according to the Bible?
The Bible uses words such as iniquity, transgression, and trespass to indicate levels of disobedience to God. They are all categorized as “sin.”
Micah 2:1 says, “Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds! At morning’s light they carry it out because it is in their power to do it.”
The Hebrew word used most often for “iniquity” means “guilt worthy of punishment.”
Iniquity is sin at its worst.
Iniquity is premeditated, continuing, and escalating. When we flirt with sin, we fall for the lie that we can control it.
James 1:14–15 TPT
14 Instead it is each person’s own desires and thoughts that drag them into evil and lure them away into darkness. 15 Evil desires give birth to evil actions. And when sin is fully mature it can murder you!
James 1:14–15 KJV
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
WHAT DO YOU LUST FOR?
Galatians 5:19–21 NLT
19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6:9–10 NLT
9 Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.
LET’S LOOK AT INIQUITY @ WORK IN MINISTRY
Acts 13:4–12 MSG
4 Sent off on their new assignment by the Holy Spirit, Barnabas and Saul went down to Seleucia and caught a ship for Cyprus. 5 The first thing they did when they put in at Salamis was preach God’s Word in the Jewish meeting places. They had John along to help out as needed. 6 They traveled the length of the island, and at Paphos came upon a Jewish wizard 7 who had worked himself into the confidence of the governor, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man not easily taken in by charlatans. The wizard’s name was Bar-Jesus. He was as crooked as a corkscrew. The governor invited Barnabas and Saul in, wanting to hear God’s Word firsthand from them. 8 But Dr. Know-It-All (that’s the wizard’s name in plain English) stirred up a ruckus, trying to divert the governor from becoming a believer. 9 But Saul (or Paul), full of the Holy Spirit and looking him straight in the eye, said, 10 “You bag of wind, you parody of a devil—why, you stay up nights inventing schemes to cheat people out of God. 11 But now you’ve come up against God himself, and your game is up. You’re about to go blind—no sunlight for you for a good long stretch.” He was plunged immediately into a shadowy mist and stumbled around, begging people to take his hand and show him the way. 12 When the governor saw what happened, he became a believer, full of enthusiasm over what they were saying about the Master.
Tap Your neighbor and tell them, pay attention the devil don’t want you to learn this……
The Book Of Acts selectively covers the first 30 years of the Churches history. As a Church historian, Luke traces the spread of the Gospel from Jerusalem to Rome. Mentioning in Acts no fewer than 32 Countries, 54 cities, 9 mediterranean islands & 95 different persons by name & a variety of governmental officials and administrators by their precise titles. Archaeology continues to confirm Lukes amazing accuracy in all his details.
Purpose: Luke has at least two reason’s in recounting the Churches beginnings
(1) He shows that the gospel moved triumphantly from the narrow borders of Judaism into the Gentile world in spite of opposition and persecution
(2) He reveals the role of the HOLY SPIRIT in the Church life and mission, emphasizing the baptism in the Holy Spirit as God’s provision for empowering the Church to proclaim the gospel and to continue Jesus ministry.
When we get to Acts * 13:2-5 we See Luke Mentioning 3 times it Was the Holy Spirit in control and it was by his direction that things happened under the submission of Prayer and Fasting..
The Passion Translation (Chapter 13)
2 While they were worshiping as priests before the Lord in prayer and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “I have called Barnabas and Saul to do an important work for me. Now, release them to go and fulfill it.” 3 So after they had fasted and prayed, they laid hands on them and sent them off.
4–5 So Saul and Barnabas, and their assistant Mark (known as John), were directed by the Holy Spirit to go to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus
Holy Spirt lead Expeditions attracted sorcery & false prophets
Acts 13:6–7 KJV
6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: 7 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
Barnabas & Saul find a false prophet who had his claws in the man they came to deliver.. (since you been fasting what have Kind of spirits have you been finding)
The Passion Translation (Chapter 13)
The governor requested a meeting with Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the message of God’s word. 8 But Elymas, whose name means “sorcerer,” stood up against them and tried to prevent the governor from believing their message.
(iniquity @ work)
The Passion Translation (Chapter 13)
9 Saul, also known as Paul, l stared into his eyes and rebuked him. Filled with the Holy Spirit, he said, 10 “You son of the devil! You are full of every form of fraud and deceit and an enemy of all that is right. When will you stop perverting the truth of God into lies? 11 At this very moment the hand of God’s judgment comes down upon you and you will be blind—so blind you won’t even be able to see the light of the sun.”
As Paul spoke these words, a shadowy mist and darkness came over the sorcerer, leaving him blind and groping about, begging someone to lead him around by the hand.
Paul discerned: he was a son of the devil, he was full of fraud & deceit & the enemy of all that right & he perverted the truth of God into lies..
Come and pray with me right now: Father God, in the Name of Jesus search my Hart, my thoughts and desires. If you find any fraudulent activity, any deceitful personality characteristics, if i have the potential of being the enemy of all thats right or pervert the truth of God’s word.. Please Forgive me and deliver me in the name of Jesus Christ…
Next Example Of Iniquity @ Work In Ministry: Turn 2
Acts 8:6–24 MSG
6 When the people heard what he had to say and saw the miracles, the clear signs of God’s action, they hung on his every word. 7 Many who could neither stand nor walk were healed that day. The evil spirits protested loudly as they were sent on their way. 8 And what joy in the city! 9 Previous to Philip’s arrival, a certain Simon had practiced magic in the city, posing as a famous man and dazzling all the Samaritans with his wizardry. 10 He had them all, from little children to old men, eating out of his hand. They all thought he had supernatural powers, and called him “the Great Wizard.” 11 He had been around a long time and everyone was more or less in awe of him. 12 But when Philip came to town announcing the news of God’s kingdom and proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ, they forgot Simon and were baptized, becoming believers right and left! 13 Even Simon himself believed and was baptized. From that moment he was like Philip’s shadow, so fascinated with all the God-signs and miracles that he wouldn’t leave Philip’s side. 14 When the apostles in Jerusalem received the report that Samaria had accepted God’s Message, they sent Peter and John down 15 to pray for them to receive the Holy Spirit. 16 Up to this point they had only been baptized in the name of the Master Jesus; the Holy Spirit hadn’t yet fallen on them. 17 Then the apostles laid their hands on them and they did receive the Holy Spirit. 18 When Simon saw that the apostles by merely laying on hands conferred the Spirit, he pulled out his money, excited, 19 and said, “Sell me your secret! Show me how you did that! How much do you want? Name your price!” 20 Peter said, “To hell with your money! And you along with it. Why, that’s unthinkable—trying to buy God’s gift! 21 You’ll never be part of what God is doing by striking bargains and offering bribes. 22 Change your ways—and now! Ask the Master to forgive you for trying to use God to make money. 23 I can see this is an old habit with you; you reek with money-lust.” 24 “Oh!” said Simon, “pray for me! Pray to the Master that nothing like that will ever happen to me!”
The continued theme behind these demon spirits is its trying divert God’s agenda in the Kingdom.
(many of us have been diverted at times, causing us to loose focus on the Kingdom coming.)
I declare today you got your focus back, your prayer life has shifted, your consecration has become disciplined.
Peter discerned the iniquity @ work was trying to buy God’s Gift, striking bargins & offering bribes, Trying to use God to make money, old habit of money lust.
Acts 16:16–18 MSG
16 One day, on our way to the place of prayer, a slave girl ran into us. She was a psychic and, with her fortunetelling, made a lot of money for the people who owned her. 17 She started following Paul around, calling everyone’s attention to us by yelling out, “These men are working for the Most High God. They’re laying out the road of salvation for you!” 18 She did this for a number of days until Paul, finally fed up with her, turned and commanded the spirit that possessed her, “Out! In the name of Jesus Christ, get out of her!” And it was gone, just like that.
Acts 16:16 TPT
16 One day, as we were going to the house of prayer, we encountered a young slave girl who had an evil spirit of divination, the spirit of Python. She had earned great profits for her owners by being a fortune-teller.
I need you to pay attention to how the enemy attacks, in these 3 stories it was in the midst of ministry that the Devil showed up and attempted to Stop the Plan of God.
This story as they where going to prayer.
The iniquity @ work is a slave girl with an evil spirit of divination & the spirit of python.
The Spirit of python is Ventriloquism , usually thought to be inspired by a god or a demon
This demon is very prevalent in the Church.
The person has the ability to have other people speak on there behalf, and the dummy i mean the person has no clue this demon is speaking through them.
