Lords Supper
Lords Supper
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
This is not just something we do as a ritual but a deep Spiritual participation of the life and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Cup of thanksgiving
Cup of thanksgiving
This reminds us of the cup in an act of giving our thanks for the salvation provided through Jesus sacrifice.
Participating in the blood of Christ
Participating in the blood of Christ
So when we as believers drink the cup we are not just merely remembering Christ’s sacrifice we are actually participating in the benefits of His shed blood. This is an intimate union with Christ and His redemptive work. We share int he life that His sacrifice brings, including forgiveness, redemption and reconciliation with God.
The bread we break
The bread we break
Breakin bread is the physical act during the Lord’s Supper which Jesus instituted. This significes the breaking of Christ’s body on the cross. This is a communal act that represents unity among believers, who are one body in Christ.

Application
Application
This very short scripture calls for a deeper appreciation of the Lord’s Supper. We need to approach the table with a heart of gratitude, recognizing the spiritual significance of what we are doing.
This also encourages unity and fellowship, reminding us of our shared identintity in CHrist.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
