An honor to be here and speak on such a sacred occasion
Memory of dad at the Vietnam memorial wall
There is something truly awesome and special about our fallen heroes
I.
What makes American fallen soldiers so special is the cause they died for
America is and always has been since its inception the greatest country in the world
Indeed it is the greatest country ever constituted
What makes America the best is the conviction that no king, president, congressman, celebrity or anyone, or anything can play the part of God above.
But rather the God of the Bible is the one over us all as our authority and its in this way our freedoms are enjoyed.
The godless cannot provide a nation rich in these principles of freedom (which is revealed in):
The French Revolution
Certain states in our own union today that resembles more of a third world nation than a nation rich in a history of freedom
II
Under God, we are the land of the free, because of the sacrifice of the brave.
From the Revolutionary war to the war on Terror.
But their blood cries out to the people of our own generation who have rejected God and do what’s right in their own eyes.
And so the foundation of what makes their sacrifice so great is eroding.
Fathers are not reading the Bible to their wife and kids
Instead the Bible is used for home decor
Children are not being trained up in the way they should go but instead are left inundated with entertainment and the desires of the flesh.
Our church buildings are nothing more than museums instead of places for biblical worship on the Lord’s day.
III
But I have good news for us—my dear fellow Americans
Like our fallen soldiers- Jesus was sent by God the Father to die for a great cause
He was sent to end the war of sin within you and me
The Son of God was perfect yet hung as a sinner on the tree
to bring sinners like you and me
to God the Father so we can be free.
“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we mighth become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21
With this blessed work completed by Jesus, the Savior of our nation, God has told us to repent from our sins and turn to him, and follow and obey him in righteousness to be saved.
The is the only hope for your:
Family, Town, County, State, and Country
Conclusion
So let us praise God for this land of the free because of the sacrifice of the brave.
Let us honor their memory on this blessed memorial day.
Let us honor their memory by turning to Jesus who offered himself as the greatest of all sacrifices for our sins.
