Welcome

Welcome visitors to Anchor Bible Church.

Announcements

The BsideU for Life baby bottle campaign has begun! If you would like to participate, please grab a baby bottle from the welcome table and fill it with coins, cash, and/or a check before returning it to Carrie Baker. All funds collected will go toward BsideU for Life’s ministry of supporting expectant mothers who are choosing life for their babies. One quick note: there are two tables with bottles outside in the foyer. The bottles under the mirror by the speaker belong to Grace EV Free. The Anchor Bible Church bottles are on the entry table right by the front door. So if you’d like to grab a bottle, please take it from the table by the front door when you leave.
Pastor Jack will be doing a final Q&A during the midweek service this Wednesday, May 29th. Don’t miss out on this opportunity! If you have any questions about something in the Bible or practical Christian living, please find the submission link on the front page of our website or contact Bekah Mazza.
In addition to being the final Q&A, this Wednesday will also be our final midweek service. To celebrate this transition, we will have an ice cream fellowship at Baskin Robbins right after the Q&A service on Wednesday night. So if you want your questions answered with free ice cream to follow, you won’t want to miss this Wednesday!
And if you’ve been enjoying our study through 1 Corinthians, then we have good news! We will be continuing 1 Corinthians during the Sunday School hour in the new location, starting June 16th. Please join us as we pick up where we left off on Wednesday nights and get ready to dive into head coverings and spiritual gifts. Lots of fun topics!
Also related to our upcoming move, the Anchor Kids ministry needs various items to stock the new nursery. They have organized an Amazon wish list with these items, and you are welcome to contribute. If you are interested in buying or donating any of these nursery items, please ask Bekah Mazza or Carrie Baker for a link to the Amazon wish list.
Speaking of ministries, I hope you saw the Anchor Café Survey this past week. Please take a couple minutes to fill that out if you haven’t already done so. We’d love to get a response from each man, woman, and older child who regularly attends our Sunday service. Your responses will help us serve all of you better as we update the café.
If you would like to receive our Anchor email newsletter, get a link to this café survey, and/or stay updated about our June 16th move, then please reach out to Bekah Mazza to join our mailing list. We’d love to keep you in the loop!
Lastly, in light of the café survey and transitions in all areas, I just want to remind you of what Pastor Jack said about managing our expectations. Change is exciting, but it is also a test. There are a lot of moving pieces, and everyone making decisions is working hard to agree in the Lord. So do not grumble and complain! Pray for our elders, deacons, and ministry leaders. Be thankful that we have a new place to meet where we can heard the Word preached and fellowship while serving one another. Ask where you can help out. Learn to laugh a little! Plan to leave your house a few minutes early so you can find the new place. Just be ready to start small so we can grow together.
Anchor Kids can be dismissed to their classes!
Scripture Reading: Psalm 39.
Pray.
“Sin with my tongue,” “how transient I am”
The consequences of our sin. The pain of discipline under the loving hand of our heavenly Father.
Teach us to consider our ways so that we may walk in wise obedience.
When life is confusing, when we don’t have answers, let us be like Job and cling by faith to our Father.
