Matthew 28:18–20 NIV
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Four Ways to Make Him Known

A. Through Our Witness

Witness: 1. have knowledge of (an event or change) from personal observation or experience 2. open profession of one's religious faith through words or actions

Acts 1:8 ESV
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

1. Jerusalem = close circle

2. Judea & Samaria = extended circle

3. End of Earth = far reaching

Acts 22:13–14 ESV
came to me, and standing by me said to me, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight.’ And at that very hour I received my sight and saw him. And he said, ‘The God of our fathers appointed you to know his will, to see the Righteous One and to hear a voice from his mouth;

4. Know His Will

5. See the Righteous One

6. Hear from his mouth

Acts 22:15 ESV
for you will be a witness for him to everyone of what you have seen and heard.

Takeaway A: We make Him known through Power and Personal Relationship

B. Through His Actions

Psalm 105:1–2 ESV
Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!
Psalm 145:12–13 ESV
to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. The Lord is faithful in all his words and kind in all his works.

Takeaway B: We make Him known when His actions are the focus

C. Through Our Yes

Luke 1:34–35 ESV
And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God.
Luke 1:38 ESV
And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Takeaway C: Jesus was literally made known through a simple Yes from Mary to God's Word

D. Through Our Seeking

Isaiah 65:1–2 ESV
I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by my name. I spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices;
Psalm 27:8 KJV 1900
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.

Takeaway D: It's hard to make Him known if He has to beg us to seek Him

Matthew 6:33 ESV
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
