Acts 3:11–26 NKJV
11 Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed. 12 So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. 14 But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. 16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. 17 “Yet now, brethren, I know that you did it in ignorance, as did also your rulers. 18 But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. 19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. 22 For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. 23 And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ 24 Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days. 25 You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ 26 To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.”

1.The Purpose of miracles is to point to the truth of the Lordship of Jesus & the Glory of God.

Acts 3:11 NKJV
11 Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed.
The American Church is (as a whole) a self centered. so, even when we approach the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords we have this tendency to only think of how truth benefits us.
for sure the lame man was benefited, by the healing! For sure is family was benefited from his healing! To be sure the community was benefited! What about the Kingdom? The Kingdom was benefited!
Isaiah 35:1–6 NKJV
1 The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; 2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, The excellency of our God. 3 Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees. 4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” 5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert.

This Miracle took place in Solomon's Porch, also known as the court of the gentiles.

In Old Testament Temple Worship, this is the place where the non Jewish people could come and worship.
God the Father is a God of love for all peoples.
The fact is there is one Church, there is not now or never has been a white Church, black Church, Mexican, Asian Church or any other kind of Church you can think of.
Jesus died for the world.
God’s love is for the darkest sinner!

2.The Apostle Peter Preaches Jesus, and Him Crucified!

Acts 3:12–26 NKJV
1 Corinthians 1:23 NKJV
23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,

a. Jesus did this healing we have no power of our own.

Acts 3:12–13 NKJV
12 So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.
why do you marvel this is God’s work.
Jesus did this work. not us.

b. you killed The Prince of Life. (He confronted their sin, not for condemnation but for the purpose of repentance and freedom.)

Acts 3:14–15 NKJV
14 But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

c. This healing was done in the name of Jesus.

Acts 3:16 NKJV
16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

d. The Apostle Peter tells them that he understood the people did not fully understand what they where doing.

Acts 3:17–18 NKJV
17 “Yet now, brethren, I know that you did it in ignorance, as did also your rulers. 18 But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.
Peter confronts not for judgement but for freedom.
a lot of people confront because they are not concerned for the sinner they are self righteous. we really must be careful not to be self righteous.

e. Repent and be converted so that times refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.

Acts 3:19 NKJV
19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

f. Jesus is the blessing that the prophets told about. obedience to Jesus is the point of the prophets.

Acts 3:20–26 NKJV
20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.
