Titus 3:5
Titus 3:5
“regeneration”
Occurs 2 times (here and Matthew 19:28)
Definition
(Matthew 19:28 1st occ.) shows it is something we follow Christ into.
(Titus 3:5) shows it is something we have to be washed to get.
We have to be washed in the blood of Christ for sins debt to be paid (Romans 10:9-10; Colossians 1:14)
We have to have the Holy Ghost to renew us with this washing to be saved (John 6:44; Ephesians 1:13; 4:30)
Regeneration is not reformation; it is a new creation.
It is a sinner receiving new life from God (John 3:3, 7) and being born into God’d family (John 1:12-13).

Illustration - Jump I am here.
When a fire broke out in a house everyone escaped but one child. Through the window he looked down and saw only smoke, but he heard his Daddy say, “Jump! I am here!”
The child said, “Daddy I can’t see you!”
The Daddy said, “I see you! Jump and I will catch you, never mind if you can see me!”
