Zach shares testimony
Robert Chapman
The last time Jesus was with Simon by a fire, Simon Peter was denying Him.
Jesus is facing Peter’s limitations so He can trust Him in a new way.
A relationship with Jesus begins when we face up to all that grieves and contradicts God's holy will. It is continued in the same manner.
Failure is never final with God. Forgiveness is being trusted again in the place you disgraced Christ.
When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.”
Loving God is loving His people.
Loving God is loving His people.
Feed the sheep - nourish them appropriately.
Tend the sheep - take care of, guide, govern, defend, etc.
Loving Jesus is loving His bride. Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,”
When you marry the man, you marry the family.
He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep. Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.”
Faithful service releases His Favor.
Faithful service releases His Favor.
What you do for others God will do for you.
Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.”
Matthew 10:42 “And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.””
Good Leaders Are Good Followers
Good Leaders Are Good Followers
Dying to self In a thousands ways because we live for a higher purpose. Leadership is continual crucifixion.
Death for Christ is the door to living with Christ
Crucifixion leads to resurrection
(This he said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God.) And after saying this he said to him, “Follow me.”
Good Leaders submit to their Leaders
Adding value to their people
Loving the people enough to lay their life down for them. John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”
Peter always remembered this commission; he became a dedicated shepherd of the flock. And as a good shepherd, caring for the sheep, Peter would, like Jesus, be called upon to lay down his life.

1 Peter written Ad 62-64
So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.
