We are always feeling the lack of peace.

Peace carries the fundamental meaning of welfare as well as the absence of hostility

We are anxious about finances, our family getting along or not, parents or spouses arguing, stress from our job

it elevates our blood pressure, we respond harshly because we are overwhelmed

we get discouraged and lose confidence because nothing seems to ever change, it seems like nothing can or will ever change so why try?

the happy faces on billboards on the highway seem distant from what we experience driving down the same road again day after day

We ask ourselves what the point is.

Is there really any reality to a state of tranquility and wholeness?

Is there reality to having peace of mind not from giving up but from knowing hope?

I mean it makes sense that you’re not at peace with your wife or husband or girlfriend or boyfriend or parents or kids because you yourself don’t have any peace to offer.

When my wife and I have a disagreement, I can tell you almost every time it’s because I wan’t at peace with myself.

But how can we be at peace with ourselves?

Theres a lot of suggestions out there.

Go to the beach

Go on a drive

Go shopping

Read a book

Join a sport or club

yoga classes

eastern religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism focused on you and you seeking peace.

but what if i told you that you wont find peace within just yourself no matter how deep you search?

that sounds legit if you know yourself

Maybe we shouldn't elevate ourselves to the position of being the source of peace.

Fernando Pessoa disse:

O perfeito é desumano porque o humano é imperfeito.

So if it’s not in ourselves and its not within our spouse or friend, we have to look beyond humanity.

A única solução está em Deus

Paz é um conceito muito presente na Bíblia que se refere frequentemente a uma relação de amor e lealdade com Deus e com os outros.

Jesus é chamado o Rei dos reis. Ele é que tem o poder para criar a paz. E foi Jesus que se aproximou a este mundo de rebelião e egoísmo para fazer a paz, mas apenas nas suas próprias condições.

despõe as tuas armas, especialmente as armas da presunção e da autossuficiência; admite a tua derrota; aceita o teu perdão total e gratuito (amnistia total) e jura fidelidade ao novo rei da tua vida

Assim, e somente assim é que podes orar com coração puro as palavras de Salmo 4:8

Em paz me deito e durmo, porque só tu, Senhor, fazes com que eu viva em segurança.

Ou outro lugar na bíblia onde se diz

e a paz de Deus, que ultrapassa todo entendimento, guardará o vosso coração e os vossos pensamentos em Cristo Jesus.
