What do I believe God wants us to know? We can have peace with God and of God
Why? We all long for peace
What do I believe God wants us to do? Put on the shoes by praising, praying, and preaching
Why? It brings peace
ME/WE
One of the greatest desires we all have is to have PEACE or MORE PEACE, SHALOM
The word gives us a picture of what it means….SHALOM MEANS WHOLENESS…WE DON’T WANT ANXIETY WHICH MEANS TO BE TORN APART AND THAT IS HOW WE FEEL.

AND IF WE LOOK AT OUR ANXIETY NUMBERS IN AMERICA HOW HAVE THEY BEEN GOING? THEY HAVE BEEN SKY ROCKETING
PRE-COVID 8% OF USA STRUGGLED WITH ANXIETY
NOW ANYBODY WANT TO GUESS WHAT THIS NUMBER IS NOW?
32% THE NUMBER HAS QUADRUPLIED
HOW DO WE HANDLE THIS?
WHAT THE WORLD HAS DONE IS THIS:

Medicate anxiety away
Hear my out I am not against medication…I was anxiety medication for 3 years ago…I believe for many people it is a bandaid to help you resolve the deeper issues that Jesus would love to deal with and HEAL
Unhealthy way through: DRUGS, ALCOHOL, and ILLICIT SEX…this doesn’t solve the peace but instead NUMBS the pain momentarily and then after you come off the HIGH you crash down in a worse place

If I can have more MONEY, FAME, TIME, MORE BEAUTIFUL BY LOSING MORE WEIGHT…THEN I WILL BE FULL OF PEACE AND JOY
ANYBODY THINK THIS WAY?

HOLLYWOOD IS FULL OF ANXIOUS AND DEPRESSED STARS
MINDFULNESS
Empty one’sself out but the problem is we empty ourselves out of everything and what we need to be filled up with is the PEACE OF GOD
CHRISIAN MINDFULNESS/MEDICATION IS NOT EMPTY OURSELVES OUT OF BAD STUFF BUT INSTEAD FILLING OURSELVES UP WITH GOOD STUFF AND THEN THE BAD STUFF GOES OUT
SO HOW DO WE GET PEACE, ULITMATE?
IT DOESN’T COME FROM HAVING MORE OR MINDFULNESS OR MEDICATION?
WHERE DOES IT COME FROM? GOD
HOW WE GET PEACE FROM GOD IS BY HAVING PEACE WITH GOD.
THROUGH JESUS
FIRST WE NEED TO HAVE PEACE WITH GOD
WE BY NATURE ARE AT WAR WITH GOD BEFORE WE KNOWN HIM
GOD IS THE ULIMATE HOLDER OF PEACE
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
I KNOW WHAT SOME OF YOU ARE THINKING RIGHT NOW
I have PEACE WITH GOD BUT I DON’T HAVE THE PEACE OF GOD

BY PUTTING ON THE SHOES OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE
and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
We don’t think of this as ARMOR

Alexander the Great….Julius Caeser said one of the biggest reasons they won battle is because of the shoes they wore
THEY WERE LIKE CLEATS
THEY GAVE TRACTION AND PROTECTION
THEY WERE ABLE TO MOVE FAST AND IN STRENGTH AND THEY WERE PROTECTED
THEY WERE FIGHTING SHOES
IMAGINE GOING TO BATTLE IN THE SHOES OR SANDLES WE HAVE….WHAT WOULD HAPPEN?

FIGHTING FOR PEACE THROUGH WORSHIP
WORSHIP IS YOUR WARFARE
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

LET’S TALK ABOUT A COUPLE OF WAYS THE ENEMY, THE PRINCIPALITIES TRY TO ATTACK US.
INCORRECT EXPECTATIONS
WHEN OUR EXPECTATIONS ARE NOT MET, HOW DO WE FEEL? A LACK OF PEACE
1.INACCURATE EXPECTATIONS OF TIME
We see this on the micro with projects (house projects, work projects) we are working on not happening fast enough….we start to lack peace
MACRO LEVEL with RELATIONSHIPS and CALLING and VOCATION
HOW MANY OF US WISH WE WERE FURTHER ALONG IN VOCATION?

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

What gain has the worker from his toil?
I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

2. INACCURATE VIEW OF GOOD, BAD, AND HARD THINGS

3. INACCURRATE VIEWS OF OUR PERFORMANCE AND OUR PLACE/STANDING
ANYBODY HAVE THIS PROBLEM....EITHER TOO HIGH
Sometimes we don’t have peace because we believe we should be _____here and we are not
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
THEN WE ARE HARD ON OURSELVES AND THEN WE THINK OUR STANDING WITH GOD HAS BEEN CHANGED
IS THAT TRUE? NO
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.
Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,
nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
