Yahweh vs The Idol of Futility

Define 2 terms > Idol - “Physical or material image or form representing a reality or being considered divine and thus an object of worship.”

Futile - “incapable of producing any useful result; pointless.

The Futility of Man’s Idol (9-11)

We are made in the image of God (Gen 1:26), Idols are made in the image of man.

Those who idolize idols will be put to shame (disappointed).

Contrast to those who are in Christ, those who worships idol are in dread (Is 44:8, Prov 28:1).

Jesus in Matthew 16:26 ““For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” It’s the same thing with idols, when you worship Idols instead of the true God you are exchanging diamonds for pennies (See Rom 1:18-23).
