You Face It, God Will Fix It.

Isaiah 6:1–8 NASB95
1 In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. 2 Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory.” 4 And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke. 5 Then I said, “Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.” 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs. 7 He touched my mouth with it and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven.” 8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

CHURCH is like a hospital. It’s where people who are sick, broken, bruised, beaten, and battered with life because of sin and unrighteousness come for help. It’s okay if you are here and don’t have all your life together. If you had all your life together, you wouldn’t need to be here. However, hospitals do not tolerate sick people hanging around who don’t want to get better. No doctor is going to keep fooling with a patient who won’t take his medicine or won’t accept a needle but wants to occupy a room.

What would you think if someone said, “Look, I know I’m sick. I’ve decided to stay sick because I just like this hospital. I’m going to put my name on the door to this room and live here for a while”?

You would condemn such a person for a misuse of the hospital because a hospital only exists to give life. That is what the church does. Just as people are born and go to a hospital to get equipped to live, you are born again to come into the church.150

Matt. 9:11–13

Matthew 9:11–13
“11 When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, “Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?”
12 But when Jesus heard this, He said, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.
13 “But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion, and not sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.””
It amazes me how a person can have a hard week full of fears and tears and go to church and hear a word and leave saying that was just for me. Seem like the preacher was reading your private messages read every tweet.
I need to hear a word from the Lord to ease my troubled mind.
I need to hear a word from the Lord that I am not alone.
I need to hear a word from the Lord that weeping may endure for a night but Joy is coming in the morning.
Word that will enable you to stand in the face of adversity in the midst of cold lonely nights.
and it's in those moments that God will send you to the sanctuary and he will stand up a preacher in your midst and when it's over you say I can take it another week I can go a little farther.
With the text, Isaiah is telling us there was a time of heartache and grief in his life that reminded him of when he went into the temple and had an encounter with the living god that disallowed him to remain the same again.
There was this time a defining moment that he could never ever forget as long as he lived. as a matter of fact he named it the year King Uzziah died. I remember what happened cause it was the year my loved one died. Year my bank account read negative. The year sickness ran at an all-time high.
Uzziah played an important part in Isaiah's life. the bible helps us understand when Uzziah died Isaiah had a moment of Personal tragedy. It was there that Isiah was hit by grief. I don't know if you have been there or not but grief has the ability to grab you and shake you to your core.
I don't care how saved you are, how big your bible is, how many times you pray toward the East, etc. When Grief grabs you and puts you in a stranglehold you don't know what in the world to do. I aint talking about what I heard talking about what I know.
Can't talk to your best friend/ You find joy in nothing/ Laughter never comes/Those who were once close are now distant/ Grief will snatch praise from your lips not just your lips but from your heart also. You can't feel what you want to feel, can't hear what you wanted to hear it was that year. Isiah said it was that year/ Anybody had year? Time? Month? Day? Moment?
Isiah, it was that year when I was facing heartache anxiety and the grip of grief the year the king had died,
But then I went to the temple and something started happening
In my house I felt grief but when I went to the temple. When I went to Church. even though the king had died the King of Kings was alive and well.
No matter what you going through no matter what you are facing your God is alive and well and I came to Pronounce that whatever it is you are facing God is going through it with you and he is able to DO EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL YOU CAN ASK OR THINK.
I remember the year cause I was upset, aggravated, agitated, down, hurt,
It was the year MLK died, the year the Emmanuel nine, the year Big Mike died, the year Eric Garner, year your child died, the year covid closed the world, the year my forever friend became a temporary friend. IT was THAT year.
IN that year I saw that... but that aint all i saw. 4 letter word help us out. This is somebody's word in here. (ALSO) In that year I also saw the LORD.
When you come into this temple you dont just see the burdens that are weighing, the fire that is blazing in your life. but when you come into this temple you ought to lift up your head oh ye gates and change your gaze and shift your perspective and also see the Lord.
and when I saw him he was Seated on his throne... when I saw him he was High and lifted up
when I saw him his train filled the temple.
If we are going to make it, if we are going fulfill our assignment in the face of tragedy we must remain
Mesmerize by Gods Majesty-
* We have become professional churchgoers Christians that God doesn't move us anymore God doesn't amaze us anymore. We know the routine. We have memorized the program so well that we don't have time to be mesmerized by God's majesty.
When I think of who God is... God is not just some ordinary guy some regular being some average joe. He is Majesty Holy everything about Him is simply amazing. If you could build a perfect person God is better than that. His train fills the temple meaning No one can stand next to him. So when God is working in your life some things he does should WOW you.
When was the last time you was WOW'd by God?
Are you so accustomed to everything God does? His ways dont move you? His actions dont excite you anymore, you have become so familiar with God that nothing about him brings about Enthusiasm... BUT WHEN I THINK....about God and all the things he has done I get beside myself.
*never get to comfortable with God.
Here is what we should see in when come to church. Its right in here in text.
A. V. 1 He Saw God’s Position—Isaiah saw God in His sovereignty. An earthly king may have died, but the Lord still reigned. He saw the Lord in all His glory. And, it had a profound impact on the life of Isaiah. (Ill. When life seems to fall apart at the seams, we need to remember the God Who is in control of it all! What appears to be a tragedy to us may be the greatest thing that could happen in our lives. Ill. Job! Ill. Rom. 8:28; 2 Cor. 4:17.) (Ill. We need to remember just Who is in control!) Im not in Control
B. V. 2–3 He Saw God’s Personality—The angelic beings in the temple proclaimed the thrice holy nature of the God of Heaven. Even those sinless creatures were careful to honor the holiness and purity of the Lord. Notice that they covered their faces with their wings. They also proclaimed the glory of the Lord! Isaiah finally understood that Uzziah might have been a good king, but the Lord was a holy God and He and He alone deserved the glory for all of life! (Ill. We need to remember that God’s prime characteristic is His holiness! Our duty before the Lord is to honor His holy nature by living holy lives before Him. We are to recognize His right to glory by giving Him all the glory for everything in our lives, 1 Cor. 10:31.) (Ill. Isaiah learned that this thing was not about Uzziah or Isaiah, but it is all about God! He, and He alone deserves to be in the place of honor and glory!) (Ill. Be careful not to assume the place that belongs to Him alone!) (Ill. During the downtimes of life, we need to remember Who is working all things out of His holiness and for the glory of His Name, James 1:17!) God is in control. He decesions and plans come from a good place.
We see problems at face value but God is high and lifted up that means he is above my problems above whats bringing you down. When God is high and lifted in YOUR life you stop trying to figure it out because you know God will work it out.
C. V. 4 He Saw God’s Presence—We are told that the “house was filled with smoke”. This was a symbol of the presence of God. You will notice that God’s “train” filled the temple! That speaks of His robe. God was the central figure in the Temple! Isaiah was reminded, rather forcefully, that Uzziah might be gone, but the Lord was still there! He had not been forsaken even during this downtime, but the Lord was still with Him in great glory! (Ill. We need to remember this truth as well! If we are saved, we are never alone, but even during the down times of life, we still have the presence of the lord with us at all times, Matt. 28:20; Heb. 13:5.)
The only way your God get high and lifted up is that you began to hoist him on the wings of Holy.. they crying one to another. in other words it was call and response. stuff we being doing in church forever. litterally means when one said it the other said it.
Suggesting that worship is not a spectator sport. move from spectating to participating in worship. When somebody say thank you jesus god is god and get their worship on its not the time for spectating.. because spectating leads to speculating.. whats going on with her? ummm... Its time to get with the program and start participating time to join them.. and celebrate the God that Fight your battle.
If you cant stop me you might as well join me.. Shout Holy...
Holy Holy Holy help me hoisted my God..
Train filled the temple. GLORY- its the weight of God. His weight is in the place
when you hoist God his glory fill the temple means he throw his weight around.
The Sermon Notebook: Old Testament What We Need in the down Times (Isaiah 6:1–8)

The closer you get to Him, the worse you look! But, when that realization comes, and we deal with it in repentance before the Lord, we will experience His cleansing and we will be able to stand in His presence and receive all He has for us!

Mortified(embarrased/ ashamed/ humiliated) by your own Human reality: Woe is me! When worship is real you begin to rightly judge yourself. Woe is me! I have unclean lips. I aint right and the people I hang with aint right.
When I worship instead of comparing yourself with your peers you compare yourself with God. You see Gods matchless power you see his majesty and his glory and when you see yourself you will say WOEEEEEEE is me.
As soon as Isaiah confessed a seraphim came down to the altar and placed a hot coal on Isaiah's tongue there was no burning God took the sting away.
Im here now here it is… If you face it god can fix it. If you confess it God can cure it. If you Admit it God can acquit it. If you expose it God has the power to erase it.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness
The Sermon Notebook: Old Testament (What We Need in the down Times (Isaiah 6:1–8))
A. V. 5 He Sensed His Own Condition—When Isaiah saw the Lord, he instantly realized that there were problems within his own heart. That is what happens when you get close to Him! Moving closer to God and seeing Him as He is, reveals the wickedness and sin in our own lives. (Note: Isaiah probably thought all was well in his life until he saw the Lord in His glory and holiness. When he did, he was made aware of his own shortcomings! Until we see God and are confronted with out own condition before Him, we will remain haughty and proud, but when we come face to face with Who He is and what we are, it will produce humility and confession!) (Ill. Isaiah did not cry out “Woe is my neighbor!”. He cried out “Woe is me!” Until we are able to see our own failures and our need for repentance before the Lord, we will never come clean. And, the sooner we come clean with the Lord about our own condition, the sooner we will see our downtime start to turn up!) Church is a Reality Check! Humanity Check!
B. V. 6–7 He Sensed His Own Cleansing—Thank God, the Lord does not just point out our sins, He also provides a means for our cleansing! With Isaiah, it was an angel with a live coal from the altar. With us, it is the precious blood of Jesus, 1 John 1:7–9! If we ever see Him as He is and we see ourselves as we are, then we will come before Him in humility and confess our sins. (Note: The closer you get to Him, the worse you look! But, when that realization comes, and we deal with it in repentance before the Lord, we will experience His cleansing and we will be able to stand in His presence and receive all He has for us! Talk about a downtime turning up!) Now you are aware that you need more than a Check Up… You need a cleansing.
Magnetized by God's ability-
One day a lady approaching the worship service found that she was late. Just as she stepped up to the doors, they were opened by the ushers, and the people started leaving the sanctuary. The woman asked, “Is the service over?” The usher responded with all due wisdom, “Worship is over—the service is just beginning.”
Now God speaks. After we admit and confess.. Now God speaks who shall we send? who will Go for us? No hesitation Isaiah raised his hands LORD send me. It's like this If God is willing to do all this for me, I'm willing to do anything for him.
And that's another thing when you are mesmerized by Gods majesty and mortified by your human reality.. You will be Magnetized by Gods Ability…
God has this amazing ability to draw you in. Every time he shows you favor he is drawing you in.
Still faithful still preaching etc. even if you are tired weary wounded, etc. You keep doing not because you have all in the energy in the world it's because God keeps drawing you in. God is like a magnetic force and everytime I want to throw in the towel He draws me in.
-blesses your life he is drawing you in.
- open doors he is drawing you in.
- had a long day and you still come to church that’s just Him drawing you in.
- It's been a long year so far and you are still faithful He just draws you in.
Heals you body
Makes a way
Lifts your head
Everytime i turn around he keeps on..
Does anybody here keep on getting drawn in?
Couldn't wait to get there to lift your voice..
Since im here to join the serpiahm. And I want to Hoist him.
Cause he keep doing etc.
If I be lifted up Ill draw all men.
Lift up Jesus.
