The Importance of Communion and Self-Examination

Introduction

Gotta help me out now, we gotta take and also I want to recognize our church mother. Oh, to God be the glory! The Bible says that like the aged women, they can give us wisdom, and we thank God. Everything seems to be going down, but the word of God still stands. Holiness is still right. If I didn't call you, I thank God for the holy women. I have to tell you all the truth: I'm young, I'm 38, and I'm going to be honest, holy women are the best looking women. For all the single men, look for the holy women; they are the best looking women.

1. Reflecting on the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11:23-29):

We are here on the first Sunday, a significant day in the Church of God in Christ, to celebrate the suffering of our Lord and Savior. It seems as if we've just gotten into the religion of things, just the practice, without acknowledging the deeper significance.

Paul talks about the importance of examining ourselves before partaking in the Lord's Supper. We must not take it for granted but approach it with reverence and self-reflection.

The scripture says that we should not eat the bread and drink the cup unworthily, for doing so brings judgment upon ourselves. We need to examine ourselves and ensure we are in right standing with God.

2. The Danger of Religious Routine:

Sometimes, we get into the habit of doing things just because it’s expected, like a routine. This can happen in our personal relationships and our relationship with God.

True worship requires more than routine; it demands a heartfelt connection and a genuine relationship with God. We must move beyond mere ritual and seek a deep, meaningful relationship with Him.

3. The Significance of Self-Examination:

Self-examination is crucial. We need to look inward and be honest with ourselves about our spiritual state. Are we living in accordance with God's will? Are we harboring any sins or attitudes that need to be addressed?

Jesus’ sacrifice calls us to a higher standard. We must continually strive to live lives that reflect His love and holiness. Self-examination helps us align our lives with God's expectations.

Conclusion:

We need to understand the seriousness of communion and the importance of coming to God with a pure heart. This is not just a ritual but a profound act of worship and remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice.

As we partake in the Lord’s Supper, let us remember His suffering and resurrection. Let it be a time of recommitment to living a holy and devoted life.
