6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
James 4:1–7 NKJV
1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

1. Entirely ready.

Are you entirely ready?

Or would you rather stay:

Insecure, Fearful, Angry, Anxious,Manipulative, Indecisive, Resentful, Jealous and Self-Destructive?

If you still have untried ideas floating around in you mind and heart, you are not ready for this step.

If you understand that you biggest problem, bigger than any other is you, than your ready.

James 4:1–2 NKJV
1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.

What?

You mean all of this comes back to my relationship with God!?

Yes.

We have a spiritual problem and it requires a spiritual solution .

2. At the heart of it all, we only change with God’s help.

James 4:1–2, teaches us that we have all of these things going on because we do not ask God!
so simple! the foundational truths are.
fear of God not doing for us what he has done for so many others.
Romans 2:11 NKJV
11 For there is no partiality with God.
what God has done for others he will do for you.
James 4:7–8 NKJV
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

3. We give these defects to God, asking Him to remove them.

start by giving your character defects to God.
They are not likely to disappear with one prayer.
We are going to have to do a mini inventory, daily. As we do these inventory, we trace the fruit to the root. as we find out that we are doing these things out of a self service.
when we find victory where we have previously had failure.
