Deuteronomy 28:8-14

The Message

8 God will order a blessing on your barns and workplaces; he’ll bless you in the land that God, your God, is giving you.

9 God will form you as a people holy to him, just as he promised you, if you keep the commandments of God, your God, and live the way he has shown you.

10 All the peoples on Earth will see you living under the Name of God and hold you in respectful awe.

11-14 God will lavish you with good things: children from your womb, offspring from your animals, and crops from your land, the land that God promised your ancestors that he would give you. God will throw open the doors of his sky vaults and pour rain on your land on schedule and bless the work you take in hand. You will lend to many nations but you yourself won’t have to take out a loan. God will make you the head, not the tail; you’ll always be the top dog, never the bottom dog, as you obediently listen to and diligently keep the commands of God, your God, that I am commanding you today. Don’t swerve an inch to the right or left from the words that I command you today by going off following and worshiping other gods.

There are some messages that speak to people… and then there are some that seem to just really SPEAK to ALOT of PEOPLE. You know what I mean?

HEADS OR TAILS seems to be one of those messages!

Here is the TRUTH: YOU ARE THE HEAD, NOT THE TAIL.

YOU ARE ABOVE AND NOT BENEATH

YOU ARE CALLED YO ALWAYS BE ON TOP - NOT BELOW.

Why? Because GOD WILL’D it FOR YOU - EVEN BEFORE YOU KNEW IT!

IF GOD HAS DECIDED THAT YOU ARE THE HEAD; YOU ARE THE HEAD.

THREE KEY REASONS WHY I AM THE HEAD & NOT THE TAIL

I believe you can BANK on This - they can can be CERTAINTIES TODAY FOR YOU TO COME TO A PLACE WHERE YOU LIVE LIKE THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL>

1.WHO HE IS determines how I see myself

(My value is based on who God is. Not my works or my performance or any other measure).

WHO GOD IS, DETERMINES HOW I SEE MYSELF.

THE MORE I UNDERSTAND GOD, THE MORE I VALUE MYSLEF>

Why?

Because I realize so much more of HIS GOODNESS towards me.

I get further into the DEPTH OF GRACE. TRUTH… THE ENDLESS GOODNESS OF GOD:

**this is why JESUS told so many parables to describe the Kingdom of God and to ILLUSTRATE through STORY WHO GOD IS.

HAVE YOU EVER STOPPED THINK FOR A MINUTE: I WONDER WHAT HE’s LIKE?

Through HIS WORD, HE HAS CHOSEN US BUT HE HAS ALSO CHOSEN HOW TO REVEAL HIMSELF< ITS HIS SPECIFIC REVELATION OF HIMSELF. THAT WAS HIS CHOICE>

THIS IS WHO HE IS/

WHO HE IS… THE DEPTH OF WHO GOD IS.. THE FULLNESS OF WHO Jesus Christ IS….

“8-10 And so here I am, preaching and writing about things that are way over my head, the inexhaustible riches and generosity of Christ. “

Its WAY OVER OUR HEADS….

GOD IS GREAT, And SO THEREFORE from that place of UNDERSTANDING there is no end to His grace, there is no end to His goodness’s, there is NO END TO HIS LOVE.

Its from that VERY PLACE, I can be blessed today KNOWING THAT GOD HAS CHOSEN, THAT I AM CHOSEN!

WHO HE IS, DETERMINES HOW I SEE MY MYSELF.

Why do we not act like Gods chosen? its usually got alot to do - with our own self image. Self worth assessment.

Today might be a good day…. How do I see myself?

As one holy, righteous, set apart, a treasured possession.?

The world

Your past

Your former life

Are but a handful of reasons why you might not be seeing yourself the way God is calling you to see yourself today.

Shame

Guilt

Hurt

Bitterness

Resentment towards others

unforgiveness towards other peoples actions.

It’s hard to be the head if you walking around and all people see is the chip on your shoulder.

Let it go. Your better than that. God has so much more for you.

My past doesn’t determine my future.

Your past doesn’t determine your future. Your BIBLICAL FRAME FOR LIVING ISNT WHAT YOGE DONE, it’s what HES DONE. And WHO HE IS.

What has God spoken over you that you refuse to speak over yourself ?

I am Holy - i have been made holy because of the precious blood of Jesus. His blood has sprinkled me clean. Ezekiel 36:25 “25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.” Hebrews 10:22 “22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

I am righteous -

I am forgiven

I am pure hearted

I am a person of worth

All because God is those things, and my confession needs to line up with those things

That’s my frame for living NOW.

2.WHAT HE’S SAID is what I will cling to

His WORD is TRUTH

(His promise to me).

I want YOU to WRITE THIS DOWN: “WHAT GOD HAS SAID IS WHAT TRULY MATTERS”

What God has said about me and To ME IS WHAT MATTERS MORE THAN ANYTHING.

1 Peter 1:23 “23 since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;”

for “All flesh is like grass

and all its glory like the flower of grass.

The grass withers,

and the flower falls,

25but the word of the Lord remains forever.”

And this word is the good news that was preached to you.

His word is eternal

Stands tall over all.

So what are some things that HE HAS SAID:

*He said I am going to heaven / Acts 2:21 “And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’

*He said that he will love me unconditionally / John 10:29 My Father, who has given them to me,[a] is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.

*He said that I am fearfully and wonderfully made

*He said that before I was born, he knew me! Jeremiah 1:

“4 Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

and before you were born I consecrated you;

I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

*His said that promise to me will become reality / Hebrews 6:12 “so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

HOW CAN I LIVE AS THE HEAD? HOW CAN I BE BOLD IN IT - SIMPLY THISl I CAN CLING TO WHAT HE HAS SAID!

**STORY: I love my kids - who doesn’t - but the challenge for me in this culture especially is to UNDERSTAND that TRUTH is the most important thing. the Bible is expressed TRUTH. Its written. Its done. Its final. Its TRUTH. So in a WORLD that is tying to CREATE IS

To take what they hear in the world & LINE IT UP

Thats why I love when people ask questions about GOD. You know GOD LOVES THAT YOU HAVE QUESTIONS?

But where is the answers? HIS WORD> BECAUSE HES SAID IT! & WHAT GOD HAS SAID REALLY IS ALL THAT MATTERS.

3.WHAT HE’S DONE has changed my life forever

(is all that matters for now and forever).

Salvation
