The Name Of God Is To Be HONORED
A name is an identifier
In the Old Testament, names were given based upon attributes or circumstances surrounding the birth of a child.
The name of the Lord is no different.
The name of God was given to the Children of Israel simply as I Am Who I Am (Ex. 3:14)
The Lord’s Name is MAJESTIC (Ps. 8:1)
The Lord’s Name is HOLY (Matt. 6:9)
The Lord’s Name is MAJESTIC (Ps. 8:1)
The Lord’s Name is due GLORY (Ps. 29:2)
The Lord’s Name brings SALVATION (Acts 4:12)
The Lord’s Name brings SUBMISSION (Phil. 2:10-11)
The Lord’s Name is MAJESTIC (Ps. 8:1)
1 O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
The Lord’s Name is HOLY (Matt. 6:9)
9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
The Lord’s Name is due GLORY (Ps. 29:2)
2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.
The Lord’s Name brings SALVATION (Acts 4:12)
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
The Lord’s Name brings SUBMISSION (Phil. 2:10-11)
10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

13 Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?”
14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I am has sent me to you.’ ”
15 God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.
16 Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, “I have observed you and what has been done to you in Egypt,
17 and I promise that I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, a land flowing with milk and honey.” ’

5 I will give in my house and within my walls a monument and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off.
26 and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught a great many people. And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.

8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God.
10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
11 Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water?
12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.

The Name of God Is Not Used For CONJURING
The Name of God Is Not Used For CONJURING
The name of God is not a formula to our earthly wish list.
12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.
13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
Also, you cannot take one scripture and pluck it out of the entirety of the ministry and life of Jesus and make a doctrine on it.
The name of God is not MAGICAL
The name of Jesus is for those with a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus (whoever believes in me)
The Father must be GLORIFIED not the WORKS
The will of God must be our first PRIORITY
The name of God is not MAGICAL
11 And God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul,
12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them.
13 Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.”
14 Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this.
15 But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?”
16 And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
17 And this became known to all the residents of Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks. And fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was extolled.
18 Also many of those who were now believers came, confessing and divulging their practices.
19 And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver.
20 So the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail mightily.
The name of Jesus is for those with a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus (whoever believes in me)
The Father must be GLORIFIED not the WORKS
The context of this scripture is in relationship to belief to the unity of the Godhead. (John 14:8) and the works Jesus had done had been through the Father.
This does not mean we will do works greater works in power, but we will do greater works in regard in the extent of our work. Jesus reached a country during His lifetime. The church has reached the entire world through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Also, we must understand “whatever” does not mean everything or anything. Jesus put the qualifier on this message by saying, that the Father had to be glorified in the Son. Obviously, we can always see a way God can receive glory in the Son, especially if it will relieve our pain or keep us from mourning or sorrow. However, what about the glory God can receive through our ability to face sickness, persecution and even death without fear and still have a testimony of Paul:
Rom 8:38-39
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The will of God must be our first PRIORITY
14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.
15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
16 If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that.
The will of God did not keep Jesus from the cross
The will of God did not keep Jesus from pain
The will of God did not keep the father from experiencing the loss of his son.
The will of God is having a greater love for others than for yourself and sacrificing you pleasure, your comfort for their betterment (thne when you ask you will recieve)
