I. Main Point: The Holy Spirit is powerful and pervasive.
A. The Bible’s terms for Spirit can be translated as spirit, breath, or wind.
B. Power
1. The Spirit creates and sustains life.
2. The Spirit raised Jesus and lives in you.
C. Pervasiveness
1. The Spirit is everywhere.
2. The Spirit influences everyone – Christians and non-Christians.
II. Scriptures from Sunday’s sermon: The Spirit’s Power and Pervasiveness
A. Breath/Spirit/Wind: Job 26:13; John 3:8
B. Power: Genesis 1:1-2; Psalm 104:27-30; Job 34:14-15; Romans 15:18-19; 8:11
C. Pervasiveness: Psalm 139:7-10; Numbers 24:2; Judges 13:24-25; 1 Samuel 19:18-24;

III. Spiritual Discipline:
A. Continue studying the Spirit in Luke, Acts, John, Galatians, & Romans, in community.
B. Morning meditation: Spend 5-10 minutes visualizing the Spirit with you in your day.
C. Evening prayer: Practice the prayer of Examen in the evening:
1. Give thanks
2. Ask for open eyes to see the Spirit in your life
3. Review the day looking for the Spirit’s actions
4. Ask for forgiveness
5. Pray for tomorrow

1. Where is the Spirit? Name places that you might not normally think of.
2. How does the Spirit’s pervasiveness impact your view of the Spirit?
3. Where do you need the Spirit that you might not normally think of Him?
