Lesson 1 - Conversion Dr. Harold Willmington - Liberty Home Bible Institute (Answers highlighted in blue.)

Psalm 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, ___________ the soul. The Greek word translated "conversion" has reference to a twofold turning on the part of an individual.

Psalm 19:7 KJV 1900
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

One has to do with _____________ (a turning from), and the other with _____________ (a turning to). The word "conversion" means to turn, to turn around; to turn from one thing to something else Acts 3:19 19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Acts 3:19 KJV 1900
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

a. Repentance

1. What repentance is not:

• It is not ____________, that act of turning over a new leaf.

• It is not ____________, that act of regretting the fruit of one’s crime, but not the root.

• It is not _____________, that act of attempting to make up for one’s sins through good works.

2. What repentance is:

• It is a _______________ and sincere change in the ________ of the sinner, causing him to turn from his sin.

John 16:7-11 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they believe not on me; of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more. Of judgment because the prince of this world is judged" (Jn. 16:7-11).

John 16:7–11 KJV 1900
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
