Until There is No Remedy

Introduction

The Contempt

The Promotion vs. 10 “and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.”

He was only 21 years old

The Pride vs. 11-12 “Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign… and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the Lord.”

He was young and full of pride

He didn’t humble himself before the prophet

Not only before the prophet bet when he was speaking God’s Word!

The Callousness

Rebellious vs. 13 “And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar”

Rebellion only produces ruin

You can’t show me anywhere Rebellion produces a positive!

Rebelling without regret turns into Resentment

Resentful vs. 13 “but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the Lord God of Israel.”

He resented God and didn’t feel the need to turn to him

we are sinners by nature and always have a need!

we need help DAILY to withstand the devil and his tactics

not feeling the need for God is a dangerous spot to be in

The Compassion

The Messengers vs. 15 “And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers”

Often times help from God will come from a messenger so you can take it by faith

Help isn’t always going to look how you picture help from God looking

God sends you help through a messenger because of his grace and compassion

I GOT SAVED BECAUSE GOD SENT A MESSENGER!!!!

The Mockers vs. 16 “But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words”

You may hate me, you may hate the message that God puts on my heart, BUT:

its’s here to help you

it’s here because God is having compassion upon you right now!

You can either mock me, or take heed!!

The Condemnation

2 Chronicles 36:16 “But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.”

You’ve only got so many chances

God is gracious and merciful but just

For the lost

He is only obligated to give you one invitation

For the Christian

You may be a child of God but he chastens his children

God can give you multiple chances to get right… but there is also a time when there is no remedy..

Isaiah 55:6–7 “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, Call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts: And let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; And to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”

The remedy for the Lost is Christ

The remedy for the Saved is Christ

But you must seek him while he may be found… UNTIL THERE IS NO REMEDY
