Our Hope...

1 Thessalonians 4:14–17 MEV
For if we believe that Jesus died and arose again, so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will not precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall be forever with the Lord.
Vicki was a hard-working and selfless mom. She would work two or three jobs at a time to take care of her family. The kids remember how fierce a protector she was. Gregg shared a story about a bully he encountered as a child. His mom came to his rescue when he called out to her. She loved her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids! One of her favorite things to do was to cook for the family get-togethers, especially the holidays.
Vicki loved working in her yard. One of her prized possessions was a tractor that her husband had bought for her. We're pretty sure she has one in heaven!
The kids remembered the story of how their dad met Vicki. He walked into Wynona Cafe, where Vicki was working. The moment he first laid eyes on her, he knew he would marry her!
Vicki earned the nickname COOKIE when she was almost 2 years old. Her mom had rushed to the hospital to bring baby Alice into this world. Even at the age of 2 Vicki knew they needed to celebrate. When they walked into the kitchen she had flour and eggs all over the kitchen making cookies for baby Alice! Her dad said now we have to call her COOKIE.

Our Example...

This world needs more people like Vicki in it. She will be missed, but we can carry on the example she set for us to live. You can find this in...
1 Corinthians 13:1–8 MEV
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. If I give all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love envies not; love flaunts not itself and is not puffed up, does not behave itself improperly, seeks not its own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never fails. But if there are prophecies, they shall fail; if there are tongues, they shall cease; and if there is knowledge, it shall vanish.
Anjannete was blessed to be able to be with her hand in hand at her passing. This was something her mom had asked, that she not be alone. She was not alone then and is not alone now. We have a shepherd that never leaves our side...
Psalm 23 MEV
A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
