—————————————————————————- PSALM READING

Psalm 27:1–8 NASB95
The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread? When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell. Though a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, In spite of this I shall be confident. One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord. Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice, And be gracious to me and answer me. When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O Lord, I shall seek.”

MESSAGE:

1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 NASB95
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

WE DO NOT MOURN LIKE THOSE WHO HAVE NO HOPE!

Mourning is a natural emotion at the loss of someone we love.
Yet, because of Jesus we the Born Again, the Saints of God do not mourn like those without hope.
If you were to never see Cindy again, I would say mourn.
If there was no hope of kissing her cheek again, I would say mourn.
If there was no hope of hearing her sing aloud to the Lord again, I would say mourn.
If ground and dust were our eternal destination, despair would be understandable.
Yet as Cindy knew all to well, death in this life is not the end!
—————————————————————————-

TODAY, WE MOURN OUR LOSS OF A VERY SPECIAL SAINT. BUT WE CANNOT MOURN CINDY’S LOSS.

Cindy has entered the presence of God.
As Paul tells us -
2 Corinthians 5:8 NASB95
we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.
She has shed her broken body, the years of pain and suffering.
She has gained the personal presence the Lord Jesus.
Today Cindy is cheering us on, in the crowd of saints who are present with the Lord.
Hebrews 12:1 NASB95
Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
————————————————————————————

FOR CINDY AND FOR ALL OF US IN CHRIST, THE NEWS ONLY GETS BETTER.

The eternal destiny for those in Christ is not that of floating and clouds.
No the eternal hope for those in Christ is the physical resurrection of the dead and a new Heaven and Earth.
Revelation 21:1–7 NASB95
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. “He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.
When Christ returns He will return with Cindy and all the saints by His side.
In a moment this old sinful world will be remade and Heaven and Earth will become one.
Cindy will return in a beautiful, healthy, physical body.
No longer tainted by sin and death.
No wheel chair, no walker, no pain, no suffering.
On that day we may just see a foot race between Tony and Cindy.
Oh, how I cannot wait to see Cindy dancing, singing, before the Lord.
—————————————————————————-
I DO NOT MOURN CINDY, I CELEBRATE HER AND HER EXAMPLE. I LOOK FORWARD TO THE DAY, WE ARE RESURRECTED AND WE WORSHIP PHYSICALLY TOGETHER AGAIN.
HOWEVER, I DO MOURN THOSE OF YOU WHO MAY NOT KNOW JESUS AND MAY LOSE OUT OF THE REUNION YOU HOPE FOR.
Today, I plead on behalf of Cindy, come Home to Jesus.
Be reconciled to the Lord of lords and the only true King.
2 Corinthians 5:20–21 NASB95
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
My hope is that everyone of you expereince the salvation of Jesus and today, is a day of celebration and not one of mourning.
