Being tempted is not sin.

Don’t fall for that line of teaching.
Today we are exposing one of the schemes of the devil.
You will learn how to overcome this nasty little trick that satan often employs on the people of God.
Hebrews 4:15–16 (NKJV): 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness
2 being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.

He Was Hungry

Bible study #1 (Black eye #1)

Look you need to take care of your physical needs. After all you are God you can turn a stone to bread.
Does this sound familiar. It is right on par with what the devil did to Eve when she was in the garden.
Luke 4:3–4 (NKJV)
3 And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”
4 But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ”
What may seem right and thee easy way out is not always the correct way to go about it.

There is a higher principle of life than the sustenance of the physical body; there is a spiritual life that is sustained by God’s holy Words. He would satisfy Himself with that!

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)
10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
The devil is crafty, sly, cunning, and full of lies.
The devil will do his best to keep you off the path and put you in circles.
James 4:7 NKJV
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

The next temptation to retake control of the world-kingdom

Counter fit Offering.

Bible study #2 (Black eye #2)
Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for fthis has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.
7 Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.”
8 And Jesus answered and said to him, 5“Get behind Me, Satan! 6For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”
Satan will try to use what is rightfully yours to accomplish his will.
Satan is here to kill, steal, and destroy.
What would it hurt to bend this way to help God accomplish His will. After all the end result will be the same.
Satan may have had the authority over the world at that time. That instance.
However, Jesus stayed the course. He keep the mission the main thing. His vision was not hindered.
Matthew 28:18 (NKJV)
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Philippians 2:5–11 (NKJV)
The Humbled and Exalted Christ
5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Satan will offer a counter fit to keep you reaching the vision, goals, and missions God has given you.
God’s Word will not return back to Him void. It will accomplish that for which it was sent.

The next temptation to test the almighty.

The devil knows scripture.

Bible study #3 (Bloody Nose)
Luke 4:9–12 (NKJV)
9 Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. 10 For it is written:
‘He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you,’
11 and,
‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”
12 And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”
Satan and his demons know scripture. They can quote it verbatim.
James 2:19 (NKJV)
19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!
Having a head knowledge of scripture is one thing. Knowing the one who wrote it is another.
Satan quoted scripture to Jesus and took it out of context and misquoted it so terribly bad.
Study the His word know His word. Ask questions look it up search it out with a pure heart. God will reveal His word to you. He will help you understand.
john 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
You have to get the word in you. From you head to your heart.

Jesus used the word to defeat the devil.

In every temptation Jesus answered back with scripture. The devil was in a scripture battle with the King of Kings.
He was the word made flesh dwelling among us.
He came to give us life and give it more abundantly.
Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit!
We must be filled with the Holy Spirit
It is your divine connection with God almighty.
John 14:15–17 (NKJV)
“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
Acts 1:8 (NKJV)
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
What if I have given into temptation?
Repent, ask God for forgiveness, get it under the blood.
Sin will take you further than you want to go. Keep you longer than you want to say. It will cost you more than you want to pay.
We have an advocate that will plead your case.

2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, awe have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

2 And bHe Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but calso for the whole world.

1 John 1:9 (NKJV)
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Now if you are sill having a hard time dealing with your sin let me just bring out the big guns for you today.
Lets just pull that trigger just because we can!
The New King James Version (Chapter 12)
Rev. 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”
They overcame him by the Blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony.
God has given you a testimony that is unique. It is yours and it is powerful.
Hebrews 12:1–2 (NKJV)
12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
