john 9 1-7
As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him. We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Having said these things, he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man’s eyes with the mud and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). So he went and washed and came back seeing.
So for the second time they called the man who had been blind and said to him, “Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.” He answered, “Whether he is a sinner I do not know. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”
Introduction:
Last week our word came from the thought “Verify your identity”.
Knowing who you are and who’s you are in christ is critically important to your faith.
IT is equally important to know we MUST go through various uncomfortable situations as it is necessary to make you stronger In our FAITH.
See, no one or nothing that’s developed overnight is built to last.
In order to have staying power, you’ve got to go through the process.
Merriam-webster defines process as a natural phenomenon marked by gradual changes that lead toward a particular result or a series of actions or operations conducing to an end. For the believer, each step completed in the qualifies you for victory.
The truth is the process never ends. Weather you were saved yesterday or many years ago, our adversary, Stan, the author of all lies has one mission and one mission only to stop you from walking into what God has for you.
Bridge:
No matter how Messy or chaotic the situation is…….with Jesus, the Victory belongs to you.
Some of us have gotten use to the mess in our lives, and have not embraced the fact that true reconciliation with Christ will change your perspective
Some of us have gotten use to the mess in our lives, and have not embraced the fact that true reconciliation with Christ will change your perspective
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
Through the renewing of the mind, Paul says you may examine what the will of God is, What is Good, honorable and pleasing unto God.
God wants you to be victorious in every area of our life, but and Foremost cleaning up that which is contrary to his word. living a life Free from SIN.
Romans 6 - Paul says Don’t yield any parts of your body to SIN, but yield it over to the Lord.
You have victory Through Power of the Holy Ghost
I. Victory over Depression
II. Victory over Fornication/Adultery
III. Victory over Suicidal thoughts
IV. Victory over Addictions
Believers should never accept defeat.
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,
4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,
As a new creature in Christ, you too now have victory.
You’ve got to walk in it, and it takes Faith.
7 for we walk by faith, not by sight.
Too may times we approach our situations with a Why Me? Victim mentality.
1 I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
You cant stay defeated, blessing the lord at all times with his praise continually in your mouth
Lets be honest, the reality is there are some times when the weight of your circumstance is so heavy that you now began to battle with your flesh on weather or not to give God Praise.
Commercial
Why do bad things happen to Good people?
In other words, those who have seemly done no wrong, yet they are suffering.
The Body:
This is the question in our text … A man is Born Blind
The disciples, in John 9:2
2 And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
I.
Disciples asked who has sinned for him to be Born Blind, Jesus answers and says neither he nor his parents Sin caused his blindness.
Jesus says, this was done so the Words of God Should be manifested in him. (v3)
It was customary in ancient Judaism, that suffering could be traced to specific sins.
You too were born into SIN and I don’t care how you got here - God wants to get the glory out of your Life.
But there is some stuff in your life - you will have to learn the live with.
In the NT, The apostle says says…
7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited.
8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me.
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Humble or and Over-inflated of self’s importance
4 We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
Likewise in John 8 12-13
12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
13 So the Pharisees said to him, “You are bearing witness about yourself; your testimony is not true.”
Beware of folk who seek to discredit the power of God or approach a God move with a carnal mind
When a move a God is taking place it, it will never make sense to those operating int he flesh.
6 Having said these things, he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man’s eyes with the mud
I. After Jesus says He is the Light
II. He spits on the ground, and made clay
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Whenever God is moving he requires Order or alignment with his WORD
7 and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). So he went and washed and came back seeing.
1 “And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God.
3 Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock.
5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
6 Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
7 “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
The Pharisees Questioned the man - how is it that you see
They (the religious regulators) want to know How did God do it?
The man says He applied clay to my eyes, I washed and I see
In the faces of those who doubt the Power of God, He’s Going to show himself Strong.
you too were born into Sin..unable to see.
Through water baptism, you are now no longer blind or hopeless but you can now see
4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
Even after you’ve been redeemed…
Places you use to go.
People you use to talk too.
Those things that made you tick - No longer work.
That stuff….Folk will still question, if its really true.
Theres some people who want you living life in the Dark. They were secretly satisfied with you being depressed, Lost, and confused.
SOMEBODY needs to speak up and say if it had not been for the lord on my side, U would not have made it this far.
19 and asked them, “Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?”
20 His parents answered, “We know that this is our son and that he was born blind.
21 But how he now sees we do not know, nor do we know who opened his eyes. Ask him; he is of age. He will speak for himself.”
22 (His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone should confess Jesus to be Christ, he was to be put out of the synagogue.)
23 Therefore his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.”
This is why telling you cant stop telling your testimony.
The enemy will seek answers from everyone else but you, but once God has healed you, delivered you from the snare of the enemy - keep speaking, encouraging and telling of the wonders works of GOD - for him to get the glory.
24 Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
25 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
26 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?
27 He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?
You Got to speak Boldly in the face of the enemy
One thing I know, I was bling now I see.
Disbelief disbelief is eminent for those in darkness. For the Scripture says that darkness can not comprehend the light
Disbelief disbelief is eminent for those in darkness. For the Scripture says that darkness can not comprehend the light
32 Never since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind.
33 If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.”
34 They answered him, “You were born in utter sin, and would you teach us?” And they cast him out.
35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”
36 He answered, “And who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?”
37 Jesus said to him, “You have seen him, and it is he who is speaking to you.”
38 He said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
