Intro

James: who is he?

The key to making it through trials is finding God over it, finding joy in it, and finding wisdom through it.

[Challenge] my hope for you this week is that you would experience a Jesus encounter that will begin the transformation of every area of your life. .

Jesus: the king over the universe and your story.

Jesus: the best friend In the hard times.

Jesus: the wisest person who ever lived uses trials to make us wise.

James 1:2–3 NIV

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Way through trial is to find Joy in it. Joy comes from God.

James 1:14 NIV

14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.

When there’s trials out there (our Life), there is temptation in here (Hearts).

We Live in a Problem-Filled World

Global, National, Local, Personal, Relational, Mental, Physical, Spiritual, Emotional.

This increases our anxiety. Science confirms what the Bible teaches.

God Will Test You, but He never Tempts You.

We Sin When We Give In

We aren’t all tempted by the same things.

The solution to overcoming every temptation is the same.

The Lie that launches a million sins is that God isn’t a good Father.

When we act on behalf we bring forth sin.

When sin grows up it gives birth to death.

We Overcome Temptation by Choosing the Creator over the Creation.

Every thing that you turn to out of temptation is a created thing that was never meant to satisfy you.

Every temptation we face is an invitation to look up.
