While the church may help persuade us to the value of the scripture - it is the scripture that is the final gorunding place. The Spirit by the word build us to full assurance of the word. Think of a child or person who loves their church and the people and it has helped them love God, it is his word though at the end of the day that does this. This counter the catholic notion.
