Deuteronomy 6:1–5 KJV 1900
1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it: 2 That thou mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. 3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey. 4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: 5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

I. First of all!

1 Timothy 2:1–4 KJV 1900
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

A. The most important thing in our walk with God is to pray.

1. Before we can be successful in anything in the kingdom we must first begin with prayer.

B. What is it that we should pray for?

1. We should pray for those in authority

2. For the salvation of all mankind!

C. This is where we start in evangelism.

1. For how can we be affective in anything without God first going before me and preparing my heart for what I will be encountering?

2. Pray before we go.

3. We pray after we go.

4. We offer up Thanksgiving in faith and especially when someone comes!

D. Praying for the lost should not be something that we do nonchalantly.

1. But the Paul told Timothy we need to earnestly pray.

i. To be earnest about something means we are sincere and have an intense conviction, or are serious about what we are talking about!

ii. When I am passionate about something I will speak straightly and passionately about it.

iii. This would be the same way we go to God about the lost!

a. I pray until I can’t pray anymore.
b. I pray until my stomach is tight and hurting.
c. We must pray for the lost!

II. Evangelize, Evangelize, Evangelize!

A. If you love something with all your heart and come in contact with something that you really like you want to tell someone about your experience!

1. This applies to the things of God!

Deuteronomy 6:4–9 KJV 1900
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: 5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

B. Moses commanded the people that they should teach the things of God diligently (carefully, conscientiously).

1. They were to talk about Him when they sat around the house.

2. They were to talk about Him when they were travelling.

3. They were to talk about Him they went to bed.

4. They were to talk about Him when they got up in the morning.

5. Bind His word upon your hands, place His word upon your forehead.

i. Think about this.

a. “Now consider this: Thousands of years before man developed the modern sciences and determined what parts of the brain are responsible for the various human behaviors and activities, YHWH told man to keep His words "on your forehead". Touch your forehead. Go ahead. No one is watching. Just a fraction of an inch beyond your fingertips is the PREFRONTAL CORTEX. God told us to keep His word there. Keeping His word there keeps us from processing worldly desires and events (i.e., evil) and acting on it. If we keep God's word in our prefrontal cortex, we are less likely to commit sin.” – The Refiner’s Fire blog https://www.therefinersfire.org/phylacteries.html

ii. If we keep the things of God in the forefront of our mind guess what we are going to talk about all the time!

III. The result of Evangelism!

Deuteronomy 6:10–11 KJV 1900
10 And it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not, 11 And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;

A. When we obey the commandment of the Lord then He blesses!

1. The children of Israel received the promises of God because of their obedience!

B. The things in the old testament were all done as a type and shadow of good things to come!

1. If it worked for the Children of Israel, it will work for us today!

C. Consider the beginning of the church.

1. Jesus told them to go to Jerusalem and wait for the promise of the Father.

Luke 24:49 KJV 1900
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

2. They went and prayed in Jerusalem.

Acts 1:14 KJV 1900
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

3. The Holy Ghost came.

Acts 2:1–4 KJV 1900
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

4. They couldn’t contain themselves and ended up in the street and people began to ask questions as to why they were acting like they were acting.

Acts 2:5–13 KJV 1900
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. 12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? 13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

5. They didn’t waste any time. Peter started telling them what it takes to be saved from the wicked state of their lives!

D. We can find example after example throughout the book of Acts.

1. I am teaching this morning because it is time for us to receive a revelation of the doctrine of evangelism!

2. This is how we will reach the lost!

3. We need the revelation of Evangelism just like we have had the revelation of Salvation in Jesus name, One God, and Holiness! 4. God has called us to reach out to everyone!

Luke 14:16–24 KJV 1900
16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: 17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. 18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. 19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. 20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. 21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. 22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. 23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

i. God desires to have His house filled with hungry people!
