Spiritual Rejection

JOHN 1-4 WILL YOU BELIEVE JESUS IS GOD, MESSIAH, AND SAVIOR? JOHN 5-9 DON’T REJECT THE AUTHORITY, SOVEREIGNTY, DIVINE SOURCE, AND DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST. REJECTION REVEALS SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS. JOHN 10-11 TRUST IN JESUS WHO IS YOUR SHEPHERD, HAS POWER OVER ALL, AND CARES FOR YOUR SOUL JOHN 11 (RAISING LAZARUS) JESUS’ POWER OVER DEATH REVEALS HIS MESSIAHSHIP. GOD GENUINELY CARES ABOUT OUR HURTING HEARTS! JOHN 12 CONFLICT OF BELIEF EACH PERSON MUST CHOOSE WHETHER THEY WILL BELIEVE IN JESUS AND USE THEIR LIFE FOR ETERNAL IMPACT. JOHN 13-17 JESUS TEACHES AND PRAYS FOR THE DISCIPLES ABOUT SERVICE, FAITHFULNESS, AND RELATIONSHIP WITH EACH OTHER, THE WORLD, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT JOHN 18:1-11 (ARREST OF JESUS) AS GOD, JESUS WILLINGLY COMMITS HIMSELF TO DO THE WILL OF THE FATHER TO DIE FOR MAN. FOLLOW GOD’S DESIGN FOR YOUR LIFE. JOHN 18:12-27 (PETER’S DENIAL) DON’T REJECT TRUTH; RECOGNIZE SPIRITUAL FAILURE. Spiritual Rejection (of Truth) JOHN 18:28-19:16 Spiritual Rejection Observations 1. The Jewish leader’s false righteousness actually results in fulfilling the Words of Christ. 28-32 2. Jesus’ kingship is not of this world. 33-38 3. The Jews reject Pilate’s conclusion of Jesus’ innocence. 18:38-19:6 Spiritual Rejection Observations 4. Denying Jesus’ deity leads to condemnation. 711 5. Pilate’s continued attempts to release Jesus are thwarted by the fear of Rome. 12 6. The people reject Jesus resulting in His being sent away for crucifixion. 13-16 REJECTING THE TRUTH OF JESUS LEADS TO CONDEMNATION. APPLICATION 1. Being religious/spiritual isn’t sufficient to relieve you of guilt before God. 2. Don’t allow the fear of man lead you to rejecting the truth about Christ and your salvation. 3. I cannot escape the sovereignty of God and the responsibility of man. Man and Satan cannot thwart the sovereignty of God. The sovereignty of God doesn’t remove the guilt of man. REJECTING THE TRUTH OF JESUS LEADS TO CONDEMNATION. DON’T REJECT THE TRUTH ABOUT JESUS: HE IS GOD, MESSIAH, AND YOUR SAVIOR!
