principle # 2 Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him and that he has the power to help me recover.
Never lose heart in the power of the gospel. Do not believe that there exists any man, much less any race of men, for whom the gospel is not fitted.
Charles Spurgeon

Focus is Often Out of Focus.

Most people want to focus on the problem, which means looking at the negative side of the “issue.”

Dependency Upon God’s Grace at Work is CRITICAL

Philippians 1:6 NRSV
I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ.
Regardless of what we thing, everyone changes. You are changing. God is already at work withing the situation to graciously bring good even in difficult ciircumstances.

Change is an Action Step

if a person takes even a tiny action of change, it means that more change is possible. Constructive change is NOT something that happens passively.
John 5:6 (NRSV)
When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”
— At such time a person recognizes the problem, the change can begin.

The Master Goal of Recovery is Spiritual Growth

There is NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT to move toward the perfect Solution- JESUS CHRIST.

all positive change has ONE thing in common, and that is the fact that it begins with a small step in the right direction.
