Real Father’s

are not just a “baby daddy”

1 John 3:1–2 CSB
1 See what great love the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children—and we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it didn’t know him. 2 Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when he appears, we will be like him because we will see him as he is.
He loves us
No matter what He loves us
John 3:16 CSB
16 For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 CSB
8 But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Care
Discipline
Direction
We can disappoint God, but He still loves.
He knows us
Inside and out
He made us and knows our weakness, strength, hurt, dreams, desires, secrets, and needs on every level. We are not strangers to Him.
Matthew 6:1–7 CSB
1 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward with your Father in heaven. 2 So whenever you give to the poor, don’t sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be applauded by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward. 3 But when you give to the poor, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. 5 “Whenever you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward. 6 But when you pray, go into your private room, shut your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. 7 When you pray, don’t babble like the Gentiles, since they imagine they’ll be heard for their many words.
He sees us.
Psalm 32:8 “8 I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with my eye on you, I will give counsel.”
Watches and is aware of what is happening
We are not invisible to the Father.
His eye is upon us.
You can’t hide or be hidden from Him
He is for us
Romans 8:31 CSB
31 What, then, are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
He wants what is best for us
He’s got our back and goes before us to make he way for us
He is not in your way, but making the way. Sometimes we get in the way and have to be redirected
He is committed to us (Faithful)
Hebrews 13:5 CSB
5 Keep your life free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for he himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you.
Not absentee
Always pursues us
He forgives us
1 John 1:9 CSB
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
He does hold our mistakes and failures against us, when we acknowledge it.
He desires to spend time with us (Fellowship)
1 John 1:3–9 CSB
3 what we have seen and heard we also declare to you, so that you may also have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We are writing these things so that our joy may be complete. 5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light, and there is absolutely no darkness in him. 6 If we say, “We have fellowship with him,” and yet we walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practicing the truth. 7 If we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say, “We have no sin,” we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
God desires to remove anything that would hinder our fellowship.
His greatest desire is that we spend time with Him. Pray, worship, listen, spend time in His Word, and with His children. No greater joy to a the Father’s heart.
This is the Father’s love for us
Who He is and who we need to strive to be...
Fatherless society
Malachi 4:6 CSB
6 And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers. Otherwise, I will come and strike the land with a curse.”
