Happy Father’s Day

“The Faith of a Father”

Introduction:

Good morning, beloved community!
Today, as we celebrate Father’s Day,
we turn our hearts toward the role of fathers in our lives.
Whether you are a father, have a father, or simply appreciate the impact of fatherhood, this message is for you.
We live in a crazy age today
In so many ways, much of society has drifted from God
created a collective moralism
and has lost the TRUTH
that there is a GOD
Fathers --- your job is to Love Others
your job is to lead them to understand that Christ is the Way The Truth and the Life
That alone can change the world.
What if kids had there father and mother from birth to adulthood
interacting with them
Loving them
guiding them
correcting them
Just admitting that you believe there is a God, is not the point of life
and frankly
there is a huge difference in saying you have biological kids and actually being a father
a father is present
a father is a daily influence
a father provided
a father directs and leads
and a father LOVES HIS CHILDREN
If we know our Scriptures then we know that
GOD Must be FIRST
and then there is an importance of Family
led by the father
Men you must LEAD — and that is not an easy or welcome thing at times
Listen look at
Ephesians 5:22–23 ESV
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.
Ephesians 5:33 ESV
33 However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
Now don’t miss the Words of Scripture
too often people hear what they want to hear
Listen again to verse 23 and 26
Ephesians 5:23 (ESV)
23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.
Ephesians 5:25–27 (ESV)
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,
26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,
27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
The World and Satan have attacked the family by minimizing
both
GOD and father in the family.
You have a God Given order
God, Wife, Children
i have a very loved younger mom in my life
that stated
“If it ever came to my husband or my kids i would chose the kids”
Well that person is not a Christian
BUT i can tell you
that God NEVER wants that to be your OPTION
Gentle man ---- We are to LEAD and when times are Tough We have FAITH
WE ARE TO BE GENTLE MEN ___ POSSESS THE SPIRIT AND LIVE A LIFE THAT DISPLAYS THAT TO THE WORLD
I have never met a woman that would not follow a man
that leads life in the Fruit of the Spirit
Personally, i truly believe that the proliferation of divorce,
from something that God is totally against
to an acceptable sin by society
Many children are not raised by their father and mother

Number of Children Living Only With Their Mothers Has Doubled in Past 50 Years

According to the US Census report
in 1968 only 11% of children lived with mom only and in 2020 that number jumped to 21%
Only 65% of children today live with two married parents
I applauded today the Grandparents, the Adoptive Parents that fill in the Gap
But today we celebrate
the Men in our church and community that stand in the Gap.
Can we give the fathers that through thick and thin do the work of parenting.
Carenet Dinner - lesson on....
Need to strengthen, support and encourage the father in a pregnancy
Fathers that do the RIGHT THING even when the world tells them otherwise
Fathers who love, nurture, support and care for the children that GOD alone put in their life.
Fathers must learn to lead with the mindset of CHRIST FIRST
for it in a Father’ Faith in Christ that miracles happen
it is in Faith that a Father has the Holy Spirit in Him to lead properly
A father is to lead in the ways of Christ
to be the FRUIT of the Spirit to His Family and Children
Friends — Fathers listen hear a second
God designed you for a purpose
MAIN ONE — to bring Glory to Him
then to LOVE and OBEY HIM
and to LOVE OTHERS
Too many man today — miss understand or don’t understand that
God’s commandments are meant to be followed----
Obeying God and not listening to the Justification of Man
DOING the DEED, PLANTING THE SEED, and RUNNING AWAY IS NOT IN GOD’S PLAN
I applaud once again the fathers here today that
OBEYED GOD when it gets TOUGH
Hold to GOD FIRST . WIFE. CHILDREN and then the WORLD
Faith is CHRIST JESUS is trusting that doing the RIGHT THING will HONOR GOD
Lets talk about a father who chose FAITH

I. The Story of a Desperate Father:

Let’s dive into the Gospel of Mark 9:14-29.
Here, we encounter a father who brings his demon-possessed son to Jesus.
The boy suffers greatly, and the father is desperate for help.
His faith is tested, and he cries out to Jesus, “If you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

II. Levels of Faith Displayed:

Search for a Miracle:
The father’s initial faith is like many of ours—a search for a miracle.
He hopes Jesus can heal his son.But Jesus challenges him: “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
Desperate Turning to the Right Source:
The father’s desperation deepens. He exclaims, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief
!”Real faith is not just about seeking miracles; it’s about turning to the right source
—the One who can truly transform lives.
Trusting Obedience:
Jesus commands the spirit to leave the boy.
The father witnesses the miraculous healing. His faith moves beyond desperation to trusting obedience.
He takes Jesus at His word.

III. Application to Our Lives:

Fathers: Be like this desperate father.
Seek God’s intervention for your children.
Pray fervently, trust, and obey.
Wives and Mothers: Be the helper of your Spouse. You have a role and it is
NOT LESS THAN IT IS SIMPLY DIFFERENT
Children: Honor your fathers. Recognize their sacrifices, love, and guidance.
All of Us: Our Heavenly Father loves us even more than earthly fathers.
He offers healing, transformation, and hope.
I love this verse from this section of Scripture
Mark 9:24 (ESV)
24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

Conclusion:

As we celebrate Father’s Day, let’s remember that faith is not merely about seeking miracles
—it’s about turning to Jesus, trusting Him, and obeying His Word.
Father Help our UNBELIEF
FATHER HELP US TO TRUST IN YOU ALONE
May our faith be like that of the desperate father—a faith that moves mountains and brings healing to our lives.
We celebrate Fathers
a father is present
a father is a daily influence
a father provided
a father directs and leads
and a father LOVES HIS CHILDREN
Remember, our Heavenly Father is waiting with open arms.
Let’s run to Him, just as the desperate father did,
and find grace, love, and restoration.
Amen.
