Walking Through Psalm 139

For any parents, grandparents, etc. who are not regularly here, welcome to Bartlett Chapel. I can’t tell you how awesome it is to have you here.
With all of the moving parts in today’s service; VBS stuff; handbells playing; commissioning the mission team … I don’t have time to go very deep. So, instead, I’d like to talk about the basics, and rather than having a fully-written, well planned sermon, I think we’ll just talk through the Scripture today.
So, if you have your Bible with you, open it to Psalm 139, and I’m gonna do the same. [AT THIS POINT, LEAVE THE ELECTRONICS AND OPEN YOUR BIBLE TO TALK THROUGH PSALM 139]
The stopping points:
ESTABLISHING GOD’S CREDIBILITY
vs. 5 - who knows you this well?
vs. 7 - not even YOU know you this well!
vs. 12 - where can you hide?
HERE’S WHAT HE SAYS
vs. 14 - Did you know you were awesomely and wonderfully made?
vs 14 - Wonderful are your works - Ephesians 2:10
Ephesians 2:10 NASB 2020
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
“workmanship” ποίημα — poiema — work; creation
It’s the root of our English word “poem”
NLT says: “We are God’s masterpiece!”
