Promises Fulfilled

God made certain promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Great nation, many descendants, all nations will be blessed in Abraham, the land Canaan (see. Gen. 12:2-3; 13:15; 15:18-21; 28:13-14; 35:10-12).
He promised them Mercy and deliverance from ALL their enemies (Mic. 7:20).
These promises were fulfilled in Christ; the physical and spiritual deliverance of His people.

Covenant Remembered

God’s covenant with the Patriarchs represent God’s mercy
God promised to never withdraw His “steadfast love” from Israel (Ps. 105:8, 9, 54, 54).
The oath He swore to Abraham and to Isaac. An oath is sworn to reinforce one’s word to another, and generally the oath was sworn by “something greater than themselves” (see. Gen. 22:16, 17; Heb. 6:13, 14).
Blessing Isaac; and that his seed should possess the gates of his enemies, and in it all the nations shall be blessed were all fulfilled in Christ.

As a result we will “Serve God without fear, in Holiness and righteousness.”

The end of being delivered from our enemies—sin, satan, and hell—is to “serve” (Gk. worship) God without fear or “fearlessly.”
We have here an allusion to Zep. 3:15.
We are to walk in holiness (Eph. 4:24).
All of our days (Jer. 32:39).
