Life preserver

a gift not taken???????

Its important for you to understand what God has done for you

it can’t be simply something that you know

what Jesus does when you allow him to work in your life truly transforms you

it is no longer I who live

Luke 8

stories of peoples lives completely changed for the better

without Jesus they had no hope

because Jesus worked in them

because they had faith

because he is the the way and the truth and the life, they have all of those things and more

whats most important is that the stories are not about the moment that they are healed

you’re meant to see the life that comes from the healing

Saul to Paul

Acts 7- stoning Stephen

Acts 9- road to Damascus

Acts 13- half of the new testament

Paul’s life is changed completely and for the better

despite his horrible past, he now has life in Christ

because of this his WHOLE life, his actions and his words and his motivation, not just his understanding are completely changed

Application

our life should look no different

you don’t have to be Paul, but you should be noticeably transformed by what God has done for you

God throws you the life raft out into the water, but it would look pretty silly if we grabbed it but still chose to float exactly where we were before

if my life is not transformed then I am missing the gift that God is trying to give me in salvation
