What is the gospel?

Why does talking about that make him glorious?

Genesis 12:2–3 to Abram…“And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.””

Isaiah 49:6 “he says: “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.””

since when did God want His name glorifed among all peoples?

Romans 10:14–17 “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”

so in order to glorify God and present Him to people in honor and majesty as our King…what are we called to do?

so it may be scary, it may be weird, but the situation here is that your King and Savior is not respected here almost at all for what he has done on the cross and the salvation and peace he offers to people.

Matthew 28:19–20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””

What is the church then to do?

What does it mean to disciple someone?

How did Jesus disciple people?

How did Paul disciple people?

As we get into the details of how this will happen, the point is that God would be glorified, its not about you, or us. The motivation behind what we are doing is that God would be known and loved and worshipped in Portugal.
