Knowing the fear of the Lord

We are fully known to God

(God knows our hearts and who we are. We need to remember “whose we are and who we are.”)

I hope

known also to your conscience.

(1 Thessalonians 1:5: You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.)

Ver. 12

We are not commending ourselves to you again

but...

Giving you an occasion

to boast about us

so that...

You may have [an answer]

to those who boast about

outward appearance

and not...

what is in the heart.

Ver. 13

For...

If we are out of our minds

it is for God

If we are in our right minds

it is for you.

Ver. 14-15

For...

the love of Christ controls us

concluding this ==

died for all

as a result...

in order that...

the living ones may live

Not for themselves

for the one who died and was raised
