Transcript
Jesus uses two figures to show our function in the middle of the word.
First, he calls us salt of the earth, as you remember the function of the salt in the ancient word was three-way:
To give taste to the food, to preserve the food, and to curse the harvest.
With the good actions, with the practice of the virtues, the Cristian became of good teste to God.
With the life of the sacraments, we preserve our souls of the eternal corruption.
When we practice the goods actions, we avoid that the evils grows in the harvest of God.
The salt loses its flavor, when it its mixed with another substances, while we are in the world we must be in the word, but without been part of the world. We cannot mix our life with worldly actions.
Every buddy watch, this assist this, and see this, no I am a Cristian I cannot be part of this, I will lose the good taste to God.
Finally, we are called to be light, no make our actions that people watch to us, but to look at God.
No to us, to God the glory.
Remember, we have to have a good flavor with our action, we have to preserve our should of the corruption, we have to stop the evil groin.
And we have to glorify God, given witness that he is present in those days.
