For there are many resurrections in the Bible.
There are actually 7 resurrections in the Bible.
Our Lord has written the promise of the resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf of springtime.
Martin Luther (Founder of the German Reformation)
Resurrection is all around us!
First you have the resurrection of Christ which all of our hope rest.
He is called the “first born from the dead.”
Colossians 1:18 NKJV
And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
Revelation 1:5 NKJV
and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
Christ was the first to rise in a immortal body.
1 Corinthians 15:20 NKJV
But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
He is the first fruits of those who die, unlike others, He rose never to die again.
Never to see death again He rose with an immortal Body.
He was declared to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead. Romans 1:4
Romans 1:4 NKJV
and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.
So He continues to live “on the basis of the power of an indestructible life”
Hebrews 7:16 NKJV
who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life.
Through His resurrection we all can obtain life.
Although we have complete salvation through his death, because we are reconciled to God by it, it is by his resurrection, not his death, that we are said to be born to a living hope (1 Peter 1:3).
John Calvin (French Reformer)
1 Peter 1:3 NKJV
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Our old history ends with the cross; our new history begins with the resurrection.
Watchman Nee
The same power that brought Christ back from the dead is operative within those who are Christ’s. The resurrection is an ongoing thing.

Second the resurrection of the Saints in Jerusalem
In Matt. 27:52-53, this passage states that at the time of the resurrection of Christ there where the resurrection of Saints in Jerusalem.
Matthew 27:52–53 NKJV
and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
Its almost like these saints where a token or a witness of Christ resurrection.
The tombs, then, broke open at Christ’s death, probably by the earthquake, thus heralding Christ’s triumph in death over sin, but the bodies were not raised till Christ was raised.
So they went to Jerusalem to people they knew and there lives literally where living testimonies. This was a incredible miracle.
This miracle demonstrated that Christ was not alone He indeed was the first fruits and He was the forerunner of the great harvest to come, these saint maybe small in number was a picture of that harvest.
Thirdly, the resurrection of the church.
This is referring to the rapture which will happen at the beginning of the second coming of Christ.
The dead in Christ will rise and those who will be living will rise as well.
And they will receive a glorified body.
1 John 3:2 NKJV
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
If men do not rise again from the dead, then we are of all men most miserable—and that is still the truth!
The promise of the resurrection makes the difference for the man who is a believing Christian. If men are not to be raised from the dead, why not eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die!1
A. W. Tozer
Fourthly, The resurrection of the OT saints.
It seems like the resurrection for the OT saints will happen separate from the resurrection from the church.
Job 19:25–26 NKJV
For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God,
The resurrection of the OT saints will be during His second coming.
Daniel 12:1–2 (NKJV)
“At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book.
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
The tribulation period is mentioned in verse 1, and the resurrection is mention in verse 2. So it seems that the OT saints will be resurrection when Christ will establish His Kingdom here on the earth.
Fifthly The resurrection of Tribulation Saints.
This is for those who died as martyrs in the tribulation period.
And these martyrs will be resurrected in Rev. 20:4
Revelation 20:4 (NKJV)
And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
Sixth, the resurrection of Millennial saints.
These are saints who got saved in the tribulation period and who live in the Millennial period.
Days will be lengthen in those days.
And it seems like people will live longer.
even 100 years will seem youthful
Isaiah 65:20 NKJV
“No more shall an infant from there live but a few days, Nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days; For the child shall die one hundred years old, But the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed.
Seventh, the resurrection of the wicked.
Revelation 20:11–15 (NKJV)
Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.
And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
Because man has sinned in his body his body will be judged.
All will appear before the judgement seat of Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:10 NKJV
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Romans 14:10 NKJV
But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
Taken as a whole states that all men are destined to be raised.
Daniel 12:2 (NKJV)
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
There will be some who are resurrected to everlasting life, and some with shame and everlasting contempt.
Everlasting distaste or discuss. Wishing one could die but can’t.
