2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV 1900)
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Faith is not blind it just sees the unseen!

Intro;

Last week we talked about Gideon.
After his victory over the Midianites
Gideon received great recognition.
But as we saw in the beginning of that story he was a very humble man.
Israel offered Gideon the Throne after the battle.
But he refused saying that they should not have a king but that God should rule over them !
He did not let all the emotions (his and theirs) that come with victory change him!
And he stayed the humble man that he was.
Neither did he let the stress or pressure of the fight to change him.
But he stayed humble before god and focused on God and his directions!
This same faith is what we as the church need today ( staying focused on God and his direction for our lives!)
Did You know?
#1 Unbelief is a lack of wisdom!
Matt 17:17-21
17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
Theirs was a Lack of Wisdom! Wisdom consists of complete knowledge, We can’t see like god sees, ( we now see thru a glass darkly, We must seek his face if were going to have the complete knowledge of god in our situations.
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
What was the knowledge or wisdom they did not have?
21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
The knowledge they were lacking was that they should have sought God in fasting and prayer!
Jesus did this all the time he drew aside by himself and sought the father.
And jesus didn’t wait until he was in the middle of a problem to pray he prayed and sought god daily!Jesus already had the answer before he got to the problem! He had prayed and recieved the answer for the problems he would face that day!
James 1:5-8
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Di -psuchos- confusion of the mind, You cannot move forward and backward at the same time! A decision must be made before you can take action.
Luke 11:9-10 Jesus said;
9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Jesus said ask , seek, and knock! ( the bible is a spiritual book and must be discerned spiritually) I can read till I go blind but until I ask seek and knock on heavens door to find out what God has to say about it. It will profit me nothing! Many ask seek and knock but never bother to listen for instruction or direction from the master!
10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened
Do you remember my message on
1 Kings 18:21 The show down at the O K coral.
21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. ( Di-vision) Double minded)
Are we following after God or after the world? the problem with following after the world and their desires, does not satisfy You always want more! It is Never enough!
Rom. 8:6-9
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Double mindedness brings confusion and death
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you
Rev. 3:15-22
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,
I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Titus 2:6-7 Paul writing to titus say’s
6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works:
In doctrine shewing uncorruptness
Aright mind set will be seen in right actions taken
Right actions prove your sound doctrine
Matt. 21:21-22 fig tree withered
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Mark 11:22-26 Fig tree withered
22 Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, Neither will your father which is in heaven forgive trespasses
Unforgiveness hinders prayer Therefore can hider you receiving!
Philippians 3:17-21
17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Philippians 4: 4-9
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Anxious for nothing, worried for nothing, Gods got it! Prayer, supplication,
Worry benefits nothing, unprofitable, Tears down your physical body!
And thanksgiving,Giving thanks, Praise God (rejoice in the Lord), God inhabits your praise!
therefore when we do give thanks and praise his name and God shows up he brings his peace and comfort to our souls and minds.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and
if there be any praise, think on these things.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
