His Word…My Faith

Brothers and sisters, I’m sure some of us have been in situations where you have heard someone say the Statement “ I Will take care of this”. In that moment after hearing these words the only Thing we could do was sit back and believe. Rather it be true or not the situation that we were in was not in our hands so all we could so was believe and have faith, that the The word they spoke Of I will take care of this happened.

We learned this early on in life. We learned to take our parents and those who had authority over us at their word. We believed the word that they told us and had faith that they were going to come through on whatever word they had spoken.

Antithesis

However, There has been times in our lives where we believe and have faith in other people’s words and not in the Word that God has said. The reason behind this is because we have all had moments in our life where our faith was shaken. Many things can Cause our faith and belief to be shaken. We have Friends and family that can cause us to have shaky faith. Listening to their words and putting trust in them rather than God. What Has caused your faith to be shaken? Is it the music you’re listening to, Is it the things you are watching, Is it the people you have been around?

Brothers and sisters we must watch the things we Watch, See, hear and Do. Eye gate, Ear-gate, and congregate. These things have influence on our lives. And I just came to encourage you this morning because I know there has been times in our Lives where we have Let People places and things influence us and cause our faith to be shaken.

I know you got it all together now but I just need some real people that can say that yup my faith has been shaken before, not only by what people have done but from myself as well. Yeah I know we talk about how others might be causing our faith to be shaken but what is it when you yourself are the cause of your faith being shaken. You might ask how can we ourselves cause our faith to be shaken.

Well I’m Glad you asked let me tell you. We ourselves can cause our faith to be shaken because of our Pride. We think we’re grown and can’t nobody tell us anything but the Bible tells is That God Resist the Proud and Gives grace to the humble. We must learn how to stop being so Prideful because when you are full of pride you are saying you know it all and you will start believing in your abilities rather than believing in the Word that God has spoken.

Moses Was given specific instructions to speak to the Rock and he Struck it that was because Pride Got in the way.

King Saul let pride get in the way. God told him to go Destroy the Amalekites and everything in the Land. But No Saul and his people decided to bring some things back. Instructions were given but Saul let Pride get in the way.

Okay Come here Satan. Satan could sing and lead worship so beautifully, the bible says. But one day he thought he should be getting the Glory and tried to Overthrow God.

So we must be mindful of our own selves that we realize and understand that we can’t let pride get in the way, and cause us to believe in our own abilities rather than God himself. Because it was God that allowed you to get the business, It was God that allowed you to get the car and the house, It was God that allowed you to stay employed when all the other positions around you were terminated. We Must be Mindful that we don’t let Pride slip in. We have to continue to Trust in the Lord with All thine heart and lean not to our own understanding. For our own understanding will get us in trouble but if we learn to acknowledge Him he will direct us down the right path.

I know its Hard right now but trust him. I know they are trying to influence you and take you away from what is right but Just trust him. I know It seems like you are stuck in between a rock and a Hard place but just trust him, Because if you trust him Everything will be alright. The old saints would simply sing a song I will trust in the Lord until I Die.. Is there anybody here that can Say I will trust in the Lord. For Some trust in Horses and Chariots but I will Trust in the Name of the Lord. For the Name of the Lord is a Strong tower and the righteous run there in and our safe.

Trust in Him….. Are you trusting?….

However Brothers and sisters even though we have many things that try to derail, detour and deviate us from believing his word and having Faith, we have some things that can help us on why we should believe his Word. So Brothers and sisters we should be encourage to know that I may have opposition but Even with opposition I have a Word I can take with me so when opposition arise I can remind myself of the Word that was spoken.

Not only that but even before we get to our texts we can see Many words that were spoken and all we must do is believe. Okay you don’t believe me Lets take a Journey.

Matthew Chapter 1 We see the Angel of the Lord speaking to Joseph in a a Dream and tells him that his Virgin wife will Have a baby. And this baby was conceived by the Holy Spirit. The text says After this dream Joseph went and did as the Angel of the Lord Commanded. Joseph could have done his own thing but he took what the angel of the Lord Said and did it because he believed.

Okay Come with me over to Matthew Chapter 2 Again the Angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph and told him to Flee to Egypt. Joseph got up from the dream and did as the angel of the Lord told him to do. Again Joseph believed and had faith in the Word of the Lord from this Angel.

Come here Matthew Chapter 3. The bible tells us that The Lord God use John to share a word and that word was Repent for the Kingdom of heaven is Near. Not only that but the Lord use John to tell the people another message. He uses John to tell them that yes I will baptize you with water but there is one greater that I can’t even buckle his shoes and he will baptize you with fire and the Holy spirit. Church family the Lord use John to tell us basically to get our selves together because someone greater was coming and our Job is too take the Word of the Lord and Believe.

His Word…. My Faith..

Matthew Chapter 4 I like Matthew 4 because it is one thing when you are encouraging others but it hits different when you have to encourage yourself. Okay its here in the text. Jesus goes into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan after fasting for 40 days and 40 Nights. Satan Tries to tempt Jesus but Jesus had to believe his on Word and have Faith to not give in but to Keep the Faith. Not only that but Jesus Calls some disciples this chapter and tells them to come and follow him and he will make them Fishers of men. The disciples here Simon Peter, and Andrew didn’t know what all what was in store but they Heard his Word Believed it and Followed Him.

Matthew Chapter 5 Teaches some things as well. Jesus here is teaching and gives some great Words in this 5th Chapter but it is up to Us to Believe for the Bible tells us in the 5th chapter that Blessed are those who mourn and they shall be comforted. The bible tells us in the 5th chapter that we should love our enemies and pray for those who Persecute you. Church His Word our Faith its up to us to do and believe what his Word Teaches.

Matthew 6 The bible says seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all of these things will be added unto you. We must believe and have faith that if we seek God first that Everything that we need will be added unto to us. Just look at your neighbor and say seek the Kingdom First.

Matthew Chapter 7 The bible tells us That Jesus is talking about building on a strong and solid Foundation. His word Teaches us to build on a strong foundation and if we listen to his Word and believe and Build on this Strong Foundation we will be alright. You wanna know why because when you are on a strong foundation the winds can blow but you are settled and can’t be moved because you are on a solid foundation

His Word My Faith.

Now we are here in the 8th chapter the Bible Declares that a Centurion came to Jesus Pleading with Him that he would heal his Servant that was sick back at the Centurion House. Jesus tells the Man I will come and heal him. The Centurion makes a shocking reply and says if i May paraphrase No there is no need for you to come to my home. But Jesus all you have to do is speak the Word and my Servant will be Healed.

The Centurion understood the authority and power of Jesus Words. Thats some of the our problem today in the church we don’t understand the Authority and power behind Jesus Words. The centurion understood and knew that Jesus Had the Authority to heal by just speaking the Word. I Just want to pause for the cause and shift for the lift and let you know Jesus Has authority. and while you are trying to figure it out on your own all you need to say is Lord speak a word. Because His Words have power. Just Look at somebody and say his Word have power…

You Don’t Believe Ok Come here diciples they were in the midst of a storm and Jesus was in the bottom part of the ship sleep……

Not only does his Word have power but when we believe we see his Power at work. This happened to the Centurion. Jesus Told him that because you believed it has been done for you and servant has been healed.

Thats all I come to tell you this Morning Is that he has spoken the Word and itss our Job to believe what he Has said.

For His Word Tells me……

By His Stripes we Are Healed.

His word tells ye though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death i will fear no evil for though art with me thy rod and staff will comfort me but it doesn’t stop there this is my favorite part verse 6 says surely goodness and mercy shall follow me aall the days of my Life and i Will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

For I REckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared to the Glory that shall be revealed.
