That is a question for the men today on this fathers Day is have you been with Jesus. Being with Jesus will have a profound affect on you. As we pick up the events from last week sermon. A man who had been lame for 40 years is now healed. He is able to walk and we find him now in the temple praising the Lord. Those who knew him when are astonished. Instead of being excited for the man the officials (the haters) are more concerned with how did this happen.
Peter sets the record straight. It was by the name of Jesus this man is now walking, Look at Verse 4:10-12 10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well. 11 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. 12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Ac 4:10–12).
The critics assembled the next day to question the events. They know some miraculous has happened.
It is said a whole group of the important folks High Priest Anna , Ciaphas, Johnathan , Alexander and the whole priestly clan. They brought Peter and John before them and asked By what power or with name have you done this?
Peter had to defend the good deed of sharing the power of Jesus. Don’t worry you will one day have to defend the work of God.
Peter and John do not shrink from the challenge but profess boldly their confidence in Jesus.
I just believe we need to have the same boldness today!
How do we operate with that type of Boldness?
First we have to have been with Jesus
When we have been with Jesus people will know it. After Peter speech the Council recognized something. The were unlearned men. They were not like the elite.
They had not matriculated at Pharisees University or The College of the High Priest. They were common men but they had the secret ingredient. They had been with Jesus!
One of the qualities the world don’t understand is the anointing. Just like Jesus we need the Spirit of God to be upon us. The anointing makes the difference. We can’t do anything without the power of God. What ever you do outside of God will not add to anything. We heard that only what you do for God will last!
On Fathers Day we need more men that have been with Jesus!

Sermon Outline
Parenting is a challenge, but it’s not meant to be guesswork. The Bible is filled with guidance for raising children successfully, and in this week’s sermon, Dr. Stanley presents seven principles every child needs to learn from caregivers.
Key Passage: Ephesians 6:1-4
Successful parenting is not some subjective target. Rather, it involves faithfully and adequately transferring to children—by precept and practice—those principles that will equip them to discover and fulfill God’s will for their life.
►“The Bible is very clear about what it takes to be a successful parent.”
Success in parenting means...
Fulfilling your duty to guide your children.
Understanding that even if they abandon God’s ways, you have not failed.
Being persistent (Proverbs 22:6).
►“Teach them to serve the Lord.”
To help children grow and discern God’s will for their life, parents must teach them seven principles:
1. Spiritual
• Teach your children about Jesus, the means of salvation, Christian growth, God’s Word, prayer, and service.
2. Moral or Ethical
• Teach them about honesty, integrity, loyalty, and purity. Help them to understand the blessings that come with making God-honoring choices.
3. Relational
• Teach children ways to both relate to others and choose good friends. Show them how transparency, helpfulness, and selflessness develop relationships in the family.
4. Vocational
• Guide your children in their education, and help them discover God’s will for their life. Explain the difference between spending and investing one’s life, and emphasize that God has a plan for them.
5. Financial
• Teach them the true purpose of money. It’s not meant primarily for freedom or leisure but to aid in productivity, fruitfulness, and bringing glory to God.
6. Authority
• Teach children there are legitimate authorities over them and that God is the ultimate.
7. Personal
• Teach children that they are of infinite worth. Reinforce their sense of both belonging and competence.
►“Every single child needs to feel, ‘I am somebody! I’m worth something! I belong, I’m wanted, I’m desired, I’m competent, I can do it.’”
To successfully teach these principles, you must be...
A servant leader.
Humble, disciplined, loving, firm, dependable, helpful, and encouraging.
Empowered by God.
Consistent and persistent.
Everyone needs a sense of
Belonging
Worth
Competence
Character of servant leader
Humbly Humility
Patient
