Conversion or rather transformation are nested throughout our world
Seed turns into a tree: A seed, planted in soil and provided with water and sunlight, germinates. As it absorbs nutrients from the soil, it begins to sprout roots and a shoot. Over time, the shoot grows taller, developing leaves and branches until it matures into a full-grown tree.
Clay turns into pottery: Clay, a natural material dug from the earth, is shaped by hand or on a potter's wheel into various forms such as pots, bowls, or vases. Once shaped, the clay is dried to remove moisture and then fired in a kiln at high temperatures. During firing, the clay undergoes a chemical change, transforming into ceramic pottery with a durable finish.
Caterpillar turns into a butterfly: A caterpillar starts its life by hatching from an egg laid by a butterfly. As it feeds on leaves, the caterpillar undergoes multiple stages of growth, shedding its skin to reveal a new, larger one underneath. Once fully grown, the caterpillar attaches itself to a surface and forms a protective casing called a chrysalis or cocoon. Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar undergoes metamorphosis, where its body tissues break down and reorganize into the structures of a butterfly. Finally, the mature butterfly emerges from the chrysalis, unfolds its wings, and flies away.
Acorn turns into an oak tree: An acorn, the seed of an oak tree, falls from the tree and becomes buried in soil. With adequate moisture and sunlight, the acorn germinates, sending out a root that anchors it into the ground and absorbs water and nutrients. As the acorn continues to grow, it develops a shoot that pushes through the soil's surface, forming a small seedling. Over many years, the seedling matures into a large oak tree, capable of producing its own acorns and continuing the life cycle.
I. A tree produces seed but does not have the ability to GO BACK to its orginal seed form.
It can only continue to produce that which it was created to bring forth
II. Butterfly as beautiful as it is, cannot revert back to being a caterpillar.
It can only produce that church it was created to bring forth -lay eggs
III. A child grows into an Adult, which at the appropriate time in his/her life cycle brings forth SEED.
that adult does not go back to his or hers adolescent years.
1 cor 13:11
1 Corinthians 13:11 ESV
11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.
When he matured, its some things he had to put away.
NOTICE HE SAYS (i) - He made a decision
To many of us are comfortable in the season (stage of development), that God never intended for you to LIVE in.
You were only suppose to PASS through
I. The Holy Ghost has no limitations; the limitations are in us (Flesh). Our spiritual immaturity will lead us to walk away or not acknowledge the Goodness of the Lord.
I have a problem Loving those that HURT me Matthew 5 - Love your enemies and Pray for those that Persecute you
You cant love, and curse God’s people behind their backs.
Its impossible to live holy. Romans 6 - We are no longer slaves to sin.
There is no way I can make it another day.
Context of Mat 6:
Matthew 6:31–34 ESV
31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
If not careful this carnality will cause you to enter the same state of the mind and the church of Laodicean.
Character—Laodicea represents the 21st Century church. A church blinded that it is not by your might but the power of God you’re sustaining.
because all seems to be naturally well, we act as if all is well spiritually - and God is pleased.
The church has an obligation to change the WORLD, not conform to it.
rev 3: 14-22
Revelation 3:14–16 ESV
14 “And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation. 15 “ ‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.
Jesus tell the church at Laodicea that the new creation begins with him?
Everything you need comes from HIM
The Lord knows my heart/deeds/ways
v 15 Jesus bring about reproof - the word comes to correct us
John 4:14 ESV
but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Proverbs 12:1–3 ESV
1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid. 2 A good man obtains favor from the Lord, but a man of evil devices he condemns. 3 No one is established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous will never be moved.
v3…A ROOT - as long as it remains underground, SOURCE, it absorbs nutrients, even that which can not be seen with the human eyes.
Righteous - the pure heart, those who walk up right, sanctified, set apart, Holy - shall never be moved.
MOVED - YOU WILL NOT SHIFT into any position that God has not ordained for you.
BUT God is Speaking to HIS church but our hearts have moved far away from him
As he’s calling us back to him, the 21st century church is preoccupied
Revelation 3:17–19 ESV
17 For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. 19 Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
very wealthy, So much so that when the city was destroyed, Its citizens rebuilt their city with their own resources.
They didn’t need any help
SALVE - was used as a remedy for soothing irritation to the eyes.
ANOINT - COVER or SMEAR
EYES - represents understanding
Revelation 3:20–22 ESV
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. 21 The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ ”
The focus in the text has moved to hearing
Even if you cant see, you can hear!
You may be struggling, hearing and applying the WORD of God will bring about change.
2 Timothy 3:1–5 ESV
1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
Here lies the issue with the 21st century church
John 14:6 ESV
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
2 Timothy 3:1–7 ESV
1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. 6 For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, 7 always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.
v 4
“lovers of pleasure” and “lovers of God” “pursuing”
Mark 8:22–30 ESV
22 And they came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to him a blind man and begged him to touch him. 23 And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?” 24 And he looked up and said, “I see people, but they look like trees, walking.” 25 Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again; and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. 26 And he sent him to his home, saying, “Do not even enter the village.” 27 And Jesus went on with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” 28 And they told him, “John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.” 29 And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.” 30 And he strictly charged them to tell no one about him.
make the Decision to walk with the Lord
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
