Romans 3:24-28

Job 25:4

How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

Paul answers the question in these verses. These particular verses before us are the very heart of justification by faith.

I. The Meaning Of Justification.

Dictionary Definition.

(1828) Remission of sin and absolution from guilt and punishment; or an act of free grace by which God pardons the sinner and accepts him as righteous, on account of the atonement of Christ.

II. The Miracle Of Justification.

A. A Supernatural act of God. v.24a

A saving act of God.

The sinner is guilty without excuse

The sinner is guilty without exception

The sinner is guilty without escape

III. The Manner Of Justification.

God justifies propitiously. vs.24-25

God justifies righteously. v.25

IV. The Means Of Justification.

Repentance toward God.

Romans 5:1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”

Faith toward Christ.

Romans 5:9 “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”

V. The Manifestation Of Justification.

A profession of faith.

Matthew 12:37 “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”

B. A production of fruit

James 2:14 “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?”

Your faith seals your soul eternally.

Your works satisfy the sinner externally.
