Sermon: "It's All About Christ"
Opening Illustration
Imagine for a moment you are at a grand concert. The lights dim, and the crowd falls silent in anticipation. The stage is set, and the orchestra begins to play. Each instrument, from the smallest flute to the grandest drum, contributes to a beautiful symphony. However, what if the trumpet decided it wanted to be louder than all the others, or the violin played a different melody entirely? The harmony would be lost, and the concert would be ruined. Our lives as Christians are like this orchestra, and Christ is the conductor. When we live in unity and harmony, following His lead, the melody of our lives becomes a beautiful testament to His glory.
Opening Prayer
Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we come before You today with grateful hearts, thanking You for Your grace and mercy. Lord, we ask that You open our hearts and minds to Your Word today. Help us to understand that it's all about Christ, and align our lives with His teachings. May Your Holy Spirit guide us, inspire us, and transform us, so that we may live in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Scripture: Philippians 1:27-30 (NIV)
"Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God. For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him but also to suffer for him, since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have."
Point 1: Stand Firm in One Spirit
Paul urges us to "stand firm in the one Spirit." Our unity in Christ is essential. Just like the orchestra, each of us has a unique part to play, but we must be united in purpose and spirit. The world around us is filled with division and strife, but we are called to be different. We are called to be one body, working together for the faith of the gospel. This unity is not based on uniformity but on a shared commitment to Christ and His mission.
Point 2: Strive Together for the Faith of the Gospel
Paul speaks of "striving together as one for the faith of the gospel." This means we must actively work together, support each other, and share the burden of the mission. Our faith is not a solitary journey; it is a communal effort. We must encourage one another, pray for one another, and hold each other accountable. By doing so, we can advance the gospel more effectively and show the world the power of a Christ-centered community.
Point 3: Suffer for Christ's Sake
Paul also reminds us that it has been granted to us not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for Him. Suffering is not something we seek, but it is an inevitable part of the Christian journey. When we face trials and tribulations, we must remember that we do so for Christ's sake. Our suffering is a testament to our faith and our commitment to Him. It refines us, strengthens us, and brings us closer to Christ.
There’s only 1 person whom we depend on-Jesus
1. My past life is forgiven by Him;
2. My new life is in Him;
3. My calling is from Him;
4. My message is about Him;
5. It’s all about Him (Jesus the Christ)

Brothers and sisters, it is all about Christ. Our lives, our faith, our struggles—they all point back to Him. Let us stand firm in one spirit, strive together for the faith of the gospel, and embrace the suffering that comes with following Christ. In doing so, we will reflect the beauty of His love and grace to a world in desperate need of hope. Just as the orchestra creates a beautiful symphony by following the conductor, we too can create a beautiful testament to Christ by living in unity and harmony, fully devoted to Him.
Let us go forth, knowing that it is all about Christ, and may our lives be a living testimony to His glory. Amen.
