The work of setting the captives free for us is about bringing the church body into a space in which they are empowered by the HS for the days at hand and what lies ahead.
Last week we engaged the need to deal with the soul in order to allow our spirit to reconnect with the Spirit of God
we advance this concept to highlight the evolutionary progression of our liberation knowing we have three parts of ourselves we have to deal with.
our effort is to restore the “me” to its intended purpose in the God.
Recap:
Body - Bios - Terrestrial
Body - Bios - Terrestrial
works of the flesh
in need of counseling
more than just saying “stop it” identifying what drives me back to falling to these acts
Flesh begets flesh… John 3:6
by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.
He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.
This requires you to take action: However, Remember these were dealt with on the cross… victory is already yours
Soul - Psuche - Spiritual
Soul - Psuche - Spiritual
Sustains moral and ethical injuries
will; emotion; mind
goes to heaven or hell (your humanity is found here)
In need of ministration
Dealing with the ugly
re-alignment brought through the washing in the river of the Word of God
Require you to submit to ministration and maintenance; soul is prone to fixate on the things below the effort is for it to focus on the Spirit and the things above… this is 100% on you to action
4. If this was all that there was we have NO connection with God who is Spirit. Then we would be Correct to allow our emotions to drive our will as we have no objective (ontological) standard from which we can stand on.
a. consider the animal kingdom… does someone look to a lion and call it evil
when it murders in cold blood a new born infant?
or;
does it think “hmmm… having children now is a hinderance to my life so I think I will get rid of my litter?”
b. animals do not have an objective moral or ethical standard they are devoid of;
(Psuche-Soul) so they are not human (much less are they made in the image of God)
(Zoe- Spirit) so they do not have a connection with the creator God who is Spirit
Spirit - Zoe - Celestial
Spirit - Zoe - Celestial
Is disconnected from the Father and is in need of being reconnected to allow the beings creates in His image to function in His image
Trapped or held captive by the works of the Flesh and Soul
Flesh and Soul have a tendency for the things of the earth and is often found rejecting the Spirit
In our soul it is our emotion and intellect that refuse the Spirit, the presence of God, it fears being exposed and (Adam and Eve) stand naked before the Lord.
God’s Intent
For humanity to freely be able to engage with the life God appointed for them.
John 10:10 Jesus identifies as the Good Shepherd; to give life and life abundantly
That is that on the cross Jesus paved the way for us to reconnect with the Father… no longer bound by veil of flesh or soul but that our Spirit man may mature into the fullness God has appointed.
God wants you to have the plenitude or fullness of life in Bios Psuche and Spirit only then can you do all the things Jesus Did and More
Your liberation is not a one and done, it is a continual work that is intended to reconnect you to the Spirit of God.

Now when Herod was about to bring him out, on that very night, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison.
Herod Agrippa Judean King seeking to make a name for himself
executed James and was intent on executing Peter…
This man is someone who was intent on destroying Christianity
latter vv. people “Herod… the voice of God not man…” as he was teaching struck dead for not giving honor to God… the days are coming in which we will see this once more IN THE CHURCH
How could Peter be so peaceful with the situation… how was he asleep when he was about to be put to death that very night?
Brief look at Peter’s life to see the progression (evolution) of liberation.
WE CANNOT DEVOLVE OR GO INTO REGRESSION THE DAYS OF EVIL GROW THEREFORE BODY OF CHRIST WE MUST PROGRESS INTO THE A LIBERATED LIFE.
Salvation is the Beginning not the End
Salvation is the Beginning not the End
Peter ferocious sailor; fisherman; married man with kids… hears of a the so-called Messiah
Least likely sources to make disciples.
Jesus calls him and his brother by name and they respond Matt 4:18
Our identity before Christ… when the call comes initially it is a challenge to respond, yet this is just the beginning
Jesus Begins to show them glimpses of His fullness
Lk 4:38-39 Jesus goes to Peter’s house and heals his mother in law.
He is following Jesus and is still trying to make sense of who Jesus us
part of the progression in our liberation the more we know Him the greater our liberation becomes.
Luke 5:4-7 Jesus provokes Peter to begin to action his faith “…take your boat back out and drop your nets…”
I’ve already tried that… I am tired… My nets are busted… “I am scared to do what you say because my flesh is rebelling and my (soul) emotions are telling me it is not going to work…” I tried on my own effort and it doesnt work
He was already a “follower”
His nature is being exposed…
When the nets are returned full of fish Peter states; Luke 5:8
But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.”
It is not until you understand their is but one objective moral law giver (Jesus) that you begin to realize the gravity of what Jesus did for us on the cross.
an encounter with Jesus exposure to what a liberated life can be provokes you to change;
v. 11 they forsook everything and followed Him.
Maturing into Christ
Maturing into Christ
Moving from salvation is a life that is being molded and modeled after Christ who called us by name.
He established our ability to reconnect with the celestial
Peter is going to be challenged time and time again
He sees Jesus performing miracles
raising the dead to life
Jesus walks on water
Each time Jesus revealing His nature to Peter and the others…
And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling.
But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”
And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?”
And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
These were men who were accustomed to the sea.
The winds beating on the boat figurative for doctrines that will force you to make a decision is Jesus the Christ or not…
did we just fall in love with an image of Jesus not realizing what He promised “The fullness of life”
It is in these storms where you hear “…who do they say that I am?… now tell me… who do YOU say that I am?”
You must take a stand on what you believe Jesus is… either He is who He claims to be and all of His promises for you are true or; He lied to you and you cannot trust anything He said… you cannot just believe part of it
Matt16 Peter makes a confession that speaks of how he is maturing
“You are the Christ Son of the Living God
There is a washing that occurs to your soul as you are exposed to the water of the Word of God, you are like a rusty hinge that is it is exposed is being saturated with an anointing that softens it… a repeated exposure that as time wears on enables it to be completely functional… as you make such a bold declaration you realize you are falling in love with your creator…
Peter would still be challenged on the path to his liberation; he had already known Him, exposed to His anointing, dined with Him but there were portions of Peter that still needed to be set free

2. Impossible circumstances Acts 12:6
Now when Herod was about to bring him out, on that very night, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison.
Obstacles in his way
Two chains
Two soldier chained to him
Two Sentinels guarding the door
The door
The door guards
The first and second guard posts
The Iron gates
Angel of the Lord
Shines a light
casts his chains off
He was not quiet about
Strikes him on his side v. 7
When they had passed the first and the second guard, they came to the iron gate leading into the city. It opened for them of its own accord, and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel left him.
When Peter came to himself, he said, “Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”
The gate opened on its own… look at the work of the anointing
He didnt have to say “ I am Peter the rock open says me”
Like Jericho the Lord was after His prized possession the Angel of the Lord drew him out
Progressive nature of our liberation
not one and done
continual process
immediate impact and it takes time…
I want your Spirit to walk in Liberation… I want your deliverance but you have to want it… Wake up it is no longer ok to just say “well at least I am saved…
Wake up wake up Remnant Church dress yourself
Command your soul to worship the Lord
and allow your Spirit to grow into its maturity in Christ
Keep Pressing in
In the morning sow your seed, and at evening withhold not your hand, for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both alike will be good.
Hope for what was thought dead
“For there is hope for a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its shoots will not cease.
Though its root grow old in the earth, and its stump die in the soil,
yet at the scent of water it will bud and put out branches like a young plant.
I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.
