1 Thessalonians 4:3-4

“sanctification” -
(1) to set apart for God and His service (2) to make holy Justification - imputed righteousness What Christ has done for us Sanctification - imparted righteousness What Christ is doing in us The position we have reached is this:
(1) We have a new nature (2) We are born again (3) We are in union with Christ (4) We are declared to be just (5) We are adopted into the family
Yes, but what about the problem of sin? We have not been suddenly been made perfect. There is still the problem of sin in the life of the believer and the doctrine of sanctification deals with what God does about this.
Sin does not die within the believer, the believer dies to sin.
Romans 6:12-13
Here are the PRINCIPLES of Sanctification.

I. Sanctification Is God’s Will For Us.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-4

II. Sanctification Is God’s Work In Us.

1 Thessalonians 5:23; Ephesians 5:25-26; Philippians 2:12-13
Note-- Believers cannot be without sanctification

III. Sanctification Is God’s Word With Us.

John 15:3; Acts 26:18

Are you being set apart or are you set apart?
