Anyone Can Be A Father, But It Takes A Man To Be A Dad

In the Book of Genesis we read that on the last day of his creative work, that God created the most precious and valued piece of his plan…

And being that it is Fathers Day…[Happy Fathers Day Men] I would like to highlight the fact…that God had a plan for his created order….there was a reason he created Adam and Eve in the order he did…

He created Adam first the Bible tells us. He created men first the bible tells us. Men To provide for their homes. Men To walk faithfully with God. Men To lead their families in the way of the Lord…

And any deviation from these qualities, And any deviation from these attributes do not fit within God’s design… And therefore are not Manly…are not the Lord’s intention.. are not what he created Men to be.

Listen…there are those in the world today who intend to blur those lines of distinction…between men and women… Believer be aware…that the breakdown of manhood and womanhood… is among Satan’s greatest scheme…because if men cease to be men…and women cease to be women…the family unit fails…and if the family fails…society fails…and if society fails…fallacy will rule.

It is Satan’s and the world’s agenda to sell the ideology that there is no distinction…no difference…between men and women…that we are the same…all in the name of equality.

Folks…Allow me to implore you to throw that anti-God, Anti-Bible, Anti-truth garbage in the trash and adopt a biblical worldview concerning what you believe about manhood! And who you guys are as men! Who you were created to be!!

Satan and the world says there is no distinction between men and women…but God’s Word says

Genesis 1:27 - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

You see…Satan and the world are telling you…they are going to tell your children… you need to get with the times…

Be whoever and whatever you want to be…If you’re a man and you feel a little Shania Twain coming on…and you want to feel like a woman…then start acting like a women…talking like a woman…walking like a woman…dress like a woman…you can even have your name, gender and biological sex changed today to be a woman!!! Do that if that is what makes you feel good the world says!

In fact, not only that, just do whatever makes you feel good period, men…

However…Your Creator…the reason for your existence…God the Father…the Ancient of Days…the pre-existent God of all that we know tells us as men to:

1 Corinthians 16:13 - Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

Folks, know today….that It is true that men and women are equal in value…but we are NOT the same!

Men and women are of equal worth…but are not to function the same!

Men and women are and were created different in many ways!

Our bodies were designed different.

Our minds were programmed different.

From the composition of our blood… to the development of our brains and everything in between…

Men…God.. made.. .you. different ..for ..a ..reason!

Clement of Alexandria - Man is born!!! to have connection with God.

So what is God’s purpose and plan for the Man! For you men here today?!

#1 - God created YOU [MEN] to walk with HIM!

Psalm 128:1 - Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways!

This passage speaks of the pattern that a Father [a Man!!] is to set before his wife and children!

You are to be a worshipping Father and a Godly Husband!

You are to have a personal walk with the Almighty God. Your Creator.

Why? Well…because as Romans 12 says..it is our reasonable worship…it is the appropriate response to our creator! We were created to walk with Him!

But equally as important..we are to walk closely with God as example to our wife and children!

Men..you are to be a picture of God in your homes…you are to love your wives as Christ loves the church…you are love and give up for your wife…as Christ loved and gave of himself for the church…

You are to love your kiddos right behind the Lord and your wife…and above all other things in your life…

God demands more from men than he does from women! He demands more from husbands than he does wives!! And he demands more from Fathers than he does mothers! Because your the leader…not the helpmate…So be the leader God created you to be!! Be the Man.. God intended you to be!

Joshua 24:15 - And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

#2 - Men…God gave you the responsibility of leading your children to Him!

1 Timothy 5:8 - But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Too often, the children’s training is left to the mother while the father considers a paycheck his contribution to the family.

While providing financially for your family is an important responsibility , it is not your only responsibility.

Stop delegating your responsibility to raise your children to your wife, be a Man of God and bear the responsibility of teaching and discipling your kids.

He encourages Christian character in his children by his example as well as his words of instruction and the expectations of behavior he sets forth for and enforces with his children.

The only way this happens in when we find ourselves in the Word and on our know

A pastor once told of a mother in her 30s who had been attending his church. For months and months she filled her pew before one day stepping out into the isle, walking to the front and surrendering her life to Jesus.

Over the course of the next months and years the woman became a staple within the ministry of the church. She began to grow and mature in her faith and make big decisions for the Lord. Decisions that cost her. Decisions that were not comfortable. But nonetheless, decisions that brought extreme joy to her life.

Every Sunday she would arise and get herself ready to go to church to sit under the Word of God. She would ready her children to do the same. And every Sunday morning she would leave her house with her husband who refused to go with her… sitting in the recliner.

Day and Day. Week after Week. Month after Month. She would invite her husband to go to church. To give his life to Jesus. And day after day. Week after week. Month after Month. He refused. After all…he was a “man” and there wasn’t anyone going to tell him what he was going to do.

One morning as mom and kids were preparing to leave the house to go to church, the couples little girl asked her mom as she passed by her dad in his chair. Mom? How come daddy will never go to church with us…

Mom replied, “Well sweetie” I guess it’s because daddy is okay with going to Hell. The little girl thought for a moment and the said, “Well…if daddy is going to Hell…then I want to go with him…because I want to be where my daddy is”

It was at that point that dad got up…got himself dressed..went to church…sat under the Word…The Holy Spirit convicted Him…God called his name…and he gave his life to Jesus!

That is a true story…

Anyone can be a father…But it takes a man, to be a dad!

Boys do what feels good…Men make a plan…

Boys live selfishly…Men live selflessly…

Boys act like nothing is wrong…Men admit their sinners…

Boys blame others for their wrongdoing…Men take responsibility for their sins…

Boys follow the world…Men follow Christ…

Anyone can be a father…But it takes a man, to be a dad!
