Saving faith is resting faith, the trust which relies entirely on the Saviour.
Saving faith is resting faith, the trust which relies entirely on the Saviour.
Story: before the Lord and our
Before we fully gave our lives over to the Lord,
The word faith wasnt really thought of unless it a life or death situation.
There are moments in life where we take our eyes off the Lord
and stray away from our full devotion,
-direction,
-and desire to be in his presence.
-Away from the path of Life it gets harder....
Now that we are christians we live by faith and not by site.

Genesis 25:21-24 (ESV)
21 And Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife, because she was barren. And the Lord granted his prayer, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
Context:
Ahraham had passed away:
Who was Abraham?
A man who heard The Lords voice, and had faith:
and trusted and obeyed the Lord
1.) He was called by God when
The old man when God called him to leave his home.
Gen 15
2.) The Lord promised him that he would be the father of many Nations,
3.) He was married to Sarah, who was promised a child with him
4.) Gen 16
We also know that Abraham would get ahead of God, and have a child with his Maid Hagar, who gave birth to Ishmeal away,
-He caught lieing,
- In Abrahams his failures, The Lord would turn it for his Good.
5.) It took 25 years for the promise, to come to pass,
at 99 They gave birth to Isacc.
6.) Abraham was none for his faith..
He 175 years old when he passed away
Transition:
Part 1 He knew where to Go
“And Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife, because she was barren. And the Lord granted his prayer, and Rebekah his wife conceived.”
Genesis 25:21 ESV
A.) we see the faith of Isacc/ to go to the father with his request.
- Isacc was raised in the ways of the lord
He seen his father faith
Being put on an altar as a sacrifice
He had faith He believed in prayer and he brought his request before the Lord.
Isacc put his faith into action
Philippians 4:6 ►
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
B.) Isaac did this very thing….
He didn’t just bring his request, but he believed….
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
C.) Apply:
When situation Arise do we take them to Lord?
Point 2 The womb was barren
A.) Rebekah womb was closed/ dried up/ dead/ unfruitful/ Unable to produce life.
B.) The scripture does not give us details on how Rebekah felt about the situation.
C.) Let's be real, it is hard in the waiting / could you imagine Rebekahl’s heart…
9% of men and about 11 % of women have experienced fertilty problems.
Story: When i used to work with our youth group
1 Samuel 1 8-12
I’m Reminded of Elkanah when he told Hanna his wife
Elkanah her husband said to her, “Hannah, why do you weep and why do you not eat and why is your heart sad? Am I not better to you than ten sons?” Then Hannah rose after eating and drinking in Shiloh.
The Struggle is Real
Don’t judge a situation unless you know the full details…..
◄ John 14:1 ►
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.
The season of being empty; searching; or feeling like you have a void in your heart is coming to and end.
Point 3 The Lord granted Isacc’s prayer.
His was walk had to be right before the Lord, because his prayers were answered.
could his prayers be hindered? Yes
There was nothing hindering his prayers
could there be anything hindering your prayers?
1 Peter 3:7
7 Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
A.) Rebeckah concieve a child
B.) The struggle wasn’t over, just because she was pregnant
C.) Now, the child had to be formed in the womb / her strength / emotion/ character/ the days of being comfortable were gone.
9mths term
1 child weakens you, could you imagine 2
Gen 3:16
To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.”
Is there anything that could be hindering your prayers??
Maybe it could be a:
Hinden Sin;
not living right,
idols, things that take you from God.
Small lies, we call them white lies…
JAMES 5:16 KJ21
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Conclusion: Lets stand to our feet
1.) Let’s bring them before the lord in prayer.
2.) Let nothing hinder your prayers
3.) We are coming into a birthing season
before we close I want to give an invition to accept Christ.....
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
