Luke 9:62 ESV
Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Resolute: determined
Jesus and His followers were on their way to Jerusalem where Jesus would be put to death.
Just has an encounter with 3 men. The first was warned that was a sacrifice and that he may need to give up some necessities.
The second wanted to bury his father.
Let the spiritually dead bury the physically dead.
The third person wanted to just say goodby to his family. The work that had to be done could not be delayed.
They Counting the Cost of Discipleship
Personal sacrifice. reflect on the level of commitment and dedication required in your journey.
They Let go of past attachments
In the text we noticed that individual had a distractions that hindered them form them from fully embracing true discipleship with Christ.
The call to discipleship is not to be taken lightly, and jesus challenges us to remain stedfast in our commitment to Him, regardless of external circumstances or distraction
We serve a God that is able and willing to forgive us of our sin and are unrighteousness.
You have already been forgiven, it’s up to you to except the free gift.
They understand The Urgency of the Call
Jesus emphasizes that once we put our hands on the plow we can’t let go and we should diffidently not look back. Our fruitfulness as a church is connected to how we embrace our call and our unique gifts for the kingdom.

And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.
Like a farmer, Emmanuel City you too must till the field, make the line straight for a good harvest.
