I. The Final Plague in Egypt (Exodus 11:1–10)

1. God's Announcement to Moses (Exodus 11:1-3)

- One final plague: Death of the firstborn.

- Pharaoh will finally let the Israelites go.

- Israelites instructed to ask Egyptians for silver and gold.

- God grants favor to the Israelites in the eyes of the Egyptians.

2. The Plague Described (Exodus 11:4-7)

- At midnight, God will strike down every firstborn in Egypt.

- From Pharaoh's firstborn to the firstborn of the slave girl and cattle.

- A great cry will arise in Egypt, unprecedented in history.

- Distinction between Egypt and Israel: No harm to the Israelites.

3. Pharaoh's Hardened Heart (Exodus 11:8-10)

- Pharaoh's servants will beg Moses to leave.

- Moses leaves Pharaoh in anger.

- God hardens Pharaoh's heart to multiply His wonders in Egypt.

II. Jesus’s Perfect Sacrifice

1. The Necessity of Blood for Forgiveness (Hebrews 9:22)

- Under the law, purification requires blood.

- Without shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins.

III. Our Response: Laying Down Our Lives

1. Living Sacrifices (Romans 12:1-2)

- Present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God.

- Spiritual worship involves non-conformity to the world and renewal of the mind.

- Discern God's will through transformation.

2. Self-Denial and Following Jesus (Mark 8:34-35; Matthew 16:24-25)

- Deny oneself, take up the cross, and follow Jesus.

- Saving one's life leads to losing it; losing one's life for Jesus and the gospel saves it.

3. Honoring Christ in Life and Death (Philippians 1:20-21)

- Courage to honor Christ in our bodies, whether by life or death.

- "To live is Christ, and to die is gain."

4. Sacrificial Living (Philippians 2:17)

- Being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrificial offering of faith.

- Rejoicing in sacrificial service.

5. **Manifesting Jesus in Our Lives (2 Corinthians 4:10-11)**

- Carrying the death of Jesus in our bodies.

- Life of Jesus manifested in our mortal flesh.

6. **Eternal Perspective (John 12:25)**

- Loving one's life leads to losing it.

- Hating one's life in this world preserves it for eternal life.

1. **Missionary Mindset**

- Charles Spurgeon: "Every Christian is either a missionary or an imposter."

- Embrace the call to live sacrificially and missionally for Christ.
